The reason why the smaller jbl speakers battery dies quicker over time is because they are under more stress due to the higher current the speaker needs to function so they degrade quicker

@@Kyle-kb1cf thanks I have had a lot of smaller jbl speakers and the battery's loose health after 1 or 2 years but they make it easier to replace the battery's because they know it will happen

If it comes with an A/C power cord, it's best to use it inside only, because you won't have to rely on the battery for a power source. It'll last much longer, longevity wise that way.
@Kyle-kb1cf Жыл бұрын
Not to be rude but you’re unfortunately wrong. It varies battery to battery but generally keeping a battery at 100% charge or high state of charge is degrading the songs and all batteries are happiest at 50% charge anything above or below is degrading the battery And to what extent you are above or below is how much worse it is degrading the battery.

@@Kyle-kb1cf I looked it up online. I own the JBL BOOMBOX & EXTREME 3. I keep my speakers fully charged & listen to them inside only, using the A/C power & or charging cords. There's a built in sensor that detects once the battery is fully charged. Once it is, it gets the power from the wall outlet. You may be thinking of the older models, ( boombox1,2 & extreme1,2 & the CHARGE 3,4). I read some reviews pertaining to these issues with the older models. It looks like they have corrected these issues. I don't use my speakers in battery or portable mode. I prefer to use them in A/C MODE, for two reasons. #1 You get more power: EXTREME 3: 50 watts battery mode. 100 watts A/C MODE BOOMBOX 3: 136 watts battery mode 180 watts A/C MODE #2 LONGEVITY You can only charge a speaker so many times, before the battery dies. Once it's fully charged, it's not relying on battery power anymore. It's relying on power from an A/C- DC wall outlet. I don't want to have to replace these speakers every 2-3 years, they're just too expensive. I've been considering the soundcore motionboom plus & or the TRIBIT STORMBOX BLAST, for my portable needs.They're just much more cost effective for what they do. The JBLS really do sound nice indoors, when placed near a wall, or in the corner of a room. All Bluetooth speakers don't sound good indoors. As a portable speaker, the EXTREME 3 is overpriced for the output of 50 watts. In A/C MODE, the price is more justified, getting the FULL 100 watts. Once I heard how good the BOOMBOX 3 sounded indoors, I refuse to use it as a portable. It's just too expensive. I appreciate the concern, but I'm good. Take it easy man.

@@jedolivier2688 oh yeah, don’t get me wrong I don’t have the boom box 3, nor do I want to find it’s a big waste of money. I have the tefuel boomster XL. And have had it for over seven years and it still demolishes my friends bb3. I bring mine everywhere and people always ask me what it is where I got it. Nobody cares about the boombox three or the boombox two when you’re out in public. I do gotta give them credit for enabling that chip because I kept my boombox to plugged in for 90% of its life because like you I want to enjoy the full power output but it ended up killing my bb2

Yeah. JBL said they use a smart battery that uses the wall power once the battery is full. I wonder if we can remove the battery and directly plugged it in the AC 😅

I have two JBL Extremes that we link in stereo in the yard or wherever, They are first gen . extremes, and I have replaced the batteries in both of them. Not hard or expensive. I still love their sound, but always wonder about the Boom box.

Please how do you replace the battery? Is it standard off the shelf batteries?
@donjuandemarco41156 ай бұрын
@@onyinoyi_o newpower99 they sell higher capacity batteries so your speakers will last longer than the original battery. I just ordered a replacement for the xtreme 2 it suppose to have 38% more battery than the original. I get it Monday. I’ll update you if I remember. They also have videos to show you how to replace the batteries it’s a lot easier than you think. I replaced a few batteries on flip speakers already and a charge. They all work fine still.
