But today we’re going to compare the JBL Xtreme 2 to the JBL Boombox 2. I went into Best Buy planning to buy the boombox, after playing both the boombox and the Xtreme 2 in the store we decided the Xtreme 2 actually was very impressive on how loud it got and the sound quality was amazing. We walked out with the xtreme 2. The only time I regret not getting the boombox is out on the lake on my boat when we’re hanging out in the water away from the boat, and when we’ve been drinking and suddenly it’s “not loud enough” lol. That’s the only 2 times I’ve ever wanted the boombox. You really can’t go wrong with either

Boombox sound difference is not so big it maybe has a VERY little deeper bass and it goes a little louder but the xtreme is pretty nice aswell. Think about what you want to do with them if u want to take it everywhere take the xtreme.

Soultion is to buy 2 Xtremes and party mode. Both are the same wattage, thus bigger is louder, but when 2 Xtreme speakers paired double the wattage, lighter weight.

I think with same wattage you mean 2*40 watts from a Xtreme 2 = 80 watts from a boombox 2. You know what? Just guys who don't know anything about speakers compare with watts. Watts aren't anything. When you take 4 Xtreme 2s for example they have 160 Wats like the partybox 100 but 4 Xtreme 2s aren't as strong as a partybox 100. So as you can see it doesn't depend on watts

Thanks for this review, I was disappointed going to Best Buy because there covid policies prevent you from browsing in the store. In future videos, please test these speakers plugged in. The power passing through the drivers increases a fair amount, especially for the Boomboxes. I listen to my Xtreme 2 while at home, plugged in. It would just show the true power of the new JBL BOOMBOX 2 being a 40W rated speaker

For everyone who can't decide: If you love bass and expect bass that you can feel then you should NOT buy the Xtreme 2. It's a good speaker but you can't feel the bass. The boombox 2 gives you bass that you can feel. It's about a bit stronger than half of the partybox 100, which is very good for the size. So you want bass that you can feel? Get the boombox 2 If you want bass you can feel in a big room, get a partybox

Those with Jbl Partyboost feature will connect only to other Jbl Partyboost speakers and those with Jbl Connect Plus speakers connect only to other Jbl Connect Plus speakers. Xtreme 1’s feature is ‘Connect’ and Original Boombox’s feature is ‘Connect+’. I don’t think they can connect. I haven’t tried though.
