Thanks for the shoutout. This group was created so that content creators (like us) would have a space to share and contribute without being censored, stonewalled, or attacked for being a creator. I wanted an open space for people to be able to share openly without biased mods, sponsored content, paywalls, or other underhanded favoritism that pollutes the community and objectivity of information. After I received a warning in Wedding DJs Helping Wedding DJs for posting a link to one of my KZbin videos that someone had asked for because of "self-promotion", I decided that I wouldn't beg to help people, so I created my own group. And that's how we have The DJ Help Desk.

It is def. A much needed group as people try to control all the creatives that could bring value and info to those who need it.

Gotta look at it this way. Back in the day when you went to the club, if that DJ was playing long full songs and not mixing in and out to keep the crowd hoppin then you were prolly hoppin on to the next club. Know the crowd and know the floor. This why I follow you and Rachel. Y’all are doing the same types and sizes of events I am and there’s always room to improve. 🤙🏼

I want to clarify. You misread and misunderstood my quick mix post. I made this post in response to the DJs who said “couples don’t want quick mixing.” I saw that in numerous Facebook groups and wanted to share my thoughts. My point was quick mixing is a fantastic tool if you know how to do it (and I do). 😉 I was explaining that the DJs who talk bad about quick mixing are the ones who don’t do it well or don’t understand the “how and why” behind it. When it fails it’s most likely it wasn’t executed well or you weren’t reading your crowd. It’s not quick mixing that’s the problem, it’s the DJ. There is nothing to disagree with here. We are saying the exact same thing. DJs should quick mix and having a skill like this makes you more desirable to clients. 💯 However, quick mixing isn’t simply cutting songs short. There is an art and skill to it. That’s my point. Just because you can quick mix a song doesn’t mean you should.

I understand the position and statement. I was merely saying that in order to separate yourself from others in your area there has to be something that makes you stand out. Quick mixing is def. An art form and it makes you unique, so when couple come to you because of your style of play that could and most likely means that there is a shift in style coming and you may want to learn where you as a dj fit into that shift. Now of course im not talking about you directly and I def. do not have any problems with you as a person or a dj so I don’t want create any division in the community. I think we both may have a little PTSD from these over opinionated people who are just stuck in their ways.

I only commented because you said, "but I'm entitled to disagree" and "she's basically standing up for the crowds." I guess I don't understand what you're disagreeing with. We are in complete harmony here. That's why I explained my comment again. I feel you misunderstood me based on how you started the video. In my opinion, we are on the same page 💯 🙂 Having a personal style is important. Being creative is important. There are two mantras I live by: 1. Stop DJing for other DJs. 2. There is no black or white in a creative space. Do what makes you feel good and makes your clients happy. Keep up the great work, and I'm glad you are part of The DJ Help Desk. Hope to see your content over there. And yes… PTSD from the internet is definitely a thing. 😂

It's interesting to see these difference of opinions. I just started learning how to DJ. I been making music for over 20 years and the online producers are the same way. "My way is right" "Nope my way is the best" etc.. I don't get why DJ's have problems with other peoples methods.

U right bro. I got out of those groups. I tried to learn about kareoke and dj 2legit sent me to a kareoke group and just me tryi g to ask where to get kareoke music from they tried to roast me and yeah i went off them and got dropped from the group. So i opened my own kareoke group.
