Well done and informative. I'll be tearing my 71 Super Beetle apart soon. Cheers.

Glad to see back at sharing videos , enjoyed it. The test fit new parts and adding tab for headlight are good take aways from watching your video.

It's such a shame that the aftermarket parts can't be exactly patterned from the originals. This is why I spend the extra time reworking the originals or hunting for NOS parts. I'd rather pay the money for something that's going to fit precisely, rather than jury rig a part; it's why my '73 SB spent the last two years off the road.

For those with the option, absolutely! Some don't have that time or option so showing how to fit aftermarket parts is definitely helpful!

Yep. Going through this on my '74 SB CV now.

Hi, I have a 69' Squareback that needs to have the valves adjusted and the oil changed. Could you please tell me what I can expect to pay for the work? Thank you...

Hi. Thanks for some great videos. Whitch brand/manufacturer of aftermarket fenders are you using in this video. Cheers
@Sam_Mebane4 жыл бұрын
Thomas, they are a new supplier to us and I am not sure if our supplier is the manufacturer or a middle man. These fenders were actually prototypes and stayed with the car (I welded up the turn signal holes and they are painted now). Other than the headlight tabs (which they have fixed) the fenders were outstanding. Thick, heavy steel with nicely rolled edges, not an original German fender but pretty darn close!

When you moved the running/turn lights to the bumper, what did you do to fill the Holes in the fender?
@Sam_Mebane4 ай бұрын
The smaller holes are just welded up, a piece of sheet metal is good for the larger center hole.

@@Sam_Mebane that is what I figured. Thank you for that

what's that spacer called between the body and the fender?

You mean the "Fender Beading"?

Are your fenders the same gauge as OEM?
@Sam_Mebane4 жыл бұрын
Some, such as the fenders from this supplier (beige coated) are close to if not thicker than original. Black coated fenders are not as thick.

@@Sam_Mebane All I see are the black fenders for my bug. Thank you.
