JD Simo, 1958 Les Paul, 1968 50 watt Marshall Plexi

My good friends JD Simo and Tommy Daley stopped by today to hang and listen to some cool vinyl JD's recently aquired. I pulled out my new Zoom cam to do a little vid of JD playing my old Les Paul. The guitar's a '58 goldtop (with the original small frets... it's a little hard to play), the amp is a '68 50 watt Marshall plexi, model 1986 (bass circuit), the cab is also from 1968 and it's an original white tolex 1982 model with 4 G12H 30 watt pre Rola Celestions.
JD likes a cleaner more clear tone so the guitar's turned down. No pedals, he's plugged straight in.
Amp settings: Volume 1: 10, treble: 10, Middle: 10, Bass: 1, Presence: about 1/2 way up.

To have this tone and feel with the bluntest rig possible is just insane. Anyone who's plugged straight into an old Marshall without any effects knows exactly what I mean; it's like standing naked in front of a spotlight

Gain? There isn't a "gain" option. The amp's turned all the way up. The guitar's turned down quite a bit, JD like's a cleaner, more articulate sound. Thanks for asking though!

I think I'm late to the party, but this guy is unbelievable I get the same feeling about his playing as when I first heard Stevie Ray, Eddie, Yngwie etc he is ground breaking for his honesty and feel.
