so much love. JDCR is by far one of the most grounded players I know. Maybe it is because he is korean (no offense) and it's kind of his nature, but he is never salty always friendly and honest. You came up with some nice questions TMM, appreciate this - and thus also gave us insight that at some point you don't need to know everything in detail. JDCR obviously managed to put himself on a level of skill where you know by heart what the right play/action is just based on experience and unterstanding of the game mechanics. very nice interview. thank you very much.
@Kain_R_Heinlein8 жыл бұрын
Being "Korean" has nothing to do with it. It's effort, stop putting down Asians efforts by saying that it's natural to them. It's not... it's dedication and time put into it. Granted some natural talent is required and not everyone has but they still need to train and it's not exclusive to Koreans
@aK1baby8 жыл бұрын
FutileExistence hmm, didn't realised that my comment could be misinterpreted in such a controverse way. since iam no native english speaker, I am sorry that this happend. I never ment to put his dedication in line with his origin nor would I doubt that he invested a lot in the game. But what I can tell and I have a handfull korean colleauges and friends is, that their attitude is way different to the western world and I enjoy this a lot. It is seldom transported (since it is not common to speak english as a korean) and this interview shows it pretty good. :)
@Kain_R_Heinlein8 жыл бұрын
Akibono Oh no, you're fine! I'm not offended or anything :) I'm just saying that cause stereotypes like "asians are good at everything" or that they are better at everything you may be really good at are annoying, that's all. *"I never ment to put his dedication in line with his origin"* that IS the case though... his culture of origin constantly preaches hard work and education which is why many Koreans are praised the way they are. Their attitude is different from the general American scene sure, but that's not what makes them succeed :P Your english is fine, you're okay ^^

It's tough to strike a good Rage Art on time if you aren't a seasoned player. It's easily punishable. But for clinch combos, it ensures a combo in tight situations, like say a wall combo that shouldn't have worked. T7 Rage has it's plus and minuses.

The Man Who Laughs want to take that back now idiot?
IMO when they say their gonna try to make Tekken easy again I think they're using the perspective of a pro player. I feel like Tekken 7 is still way to hard for beginners with all the new stuff they have added to the game judging by gameplay videos. Replacing bound with screw / tail spin what makes big combos still impossible to do for beginners, making beginners use rage arts so it can be blocked and punished and more. IMO if they want to make the game easy again for real beginners that don't just only play hard fighting games, make it as easy but at the same time as competitive as Tekken 5. Tekken 5 had some easy combos around 50-65 dmg and some difficult ones 65-80 or even more. Maybe only if you had rage you could extend combos with a bound or tailspin...or maybe even only 1 free stun effect after getting rage for moves like Kazuya's d/f+2 I think the reason why Tekken 3, TTT1 and Tekken 5 where so popular is because they are easy to get okay at and cool at the same time...thats the golden reason why mainstream games like Call Of Duty and GTA are so popular because they are easy and "bad ass" at the same time. IMO long tutorials will not help Tekken because beginners just want to beat some ass real quick instead of spending too much time in super long tutorials. I might be completely totally wrong with this...but what do you guys think?
@IchigoVizardful8 жыл бұрын
Tekken 7 is also adapting to streamlined combos so it can be simplified to appeal for beginners who are simply lost at playing the game but IMO the best way for it is that the beginners have to overcome it's complexity by learning more about the fundamentals and they should be more open minded about the mechanics because there's no way a game should play what they wanted instead they should play the game that was how meant to be played in the first place. Beginners should go back to play the early installments of the game and they should have second thought about if they still want to simplify the game or not. The best aspects when playing Tekken is all about discovering things because something about it make it very fun and rewarding. Casuals should go back to basics if they want to be good at the game. Sure, it may sound like a chore but if you ask me this is a necessary step. Because once you learned the curve, you can no longer mash a button and you can now the learn the fundamentals step by step by knowing what button to press. Frame reading can still be picked up and analyze because the best way to study it is to understand how the specific character attacks and defends depending on its range, distance, etc. you don't have to memorize a characters movelist if you always played that same character. Also since this is a necessary flaw I say the series should also include an in-depth tutorial so that casuals/beginners will learn a lot more.
@IchigoVizardful8 жыл бұрын
Beginners should also don't give an excuse if they want to play a game because they simply just want to beat some ass and expect to win always. In the world of fighting games, winning is an achievement and losing is inevitable. Sure, losing sucks but it should already be noted that a newbie can never win against a skilled player (unless the latter makes a wrong decision to goofed around and mess with them). It's important for casual/beginners to overlook they're loss as a means of making a room in order for them to improved and overcome certain flaws. I really hated it how casuals have to complain about simply mashing buttons and after playing the game telling that it sucks because of "this and that" or being wrecked by skilled players because they keep using the same tactics over and over again that makes them totally predictable and tells the same thing otherwise. Moral of the story: it's better for them to learn how Tekken is played and not being salty when they lost. They should also acknowledged that there are better players than them and that they better know how to show respect to others. PRACTICE, LEARN, ENJOY!!!

@IchigoVizardful8 жыл бұрын
+Mind Space Thanks for the compliment. As a Tekken fan since 2000, I'm also open for changes in Tekken however I don't want the series to change too much. We love our Tekken because it's deeply technical yet rewarding but I wouldn't mind if they streamlined it a bit if it's for the sake of attracting newcomers. I guess it takes an open mind to truly appreciate what it's best to offer when it comes to gameplay experience.

We've only seen asian players use her mostly. It's gonna be completely different when we start seeing average players using her on ranked
@sonicinnoob8 жыл бұрын
From watching Chloe play I personally can't find anything REALLY greasy, her pokes are stubby, modest 50/50's, anything that could be considered a "gimmick" isn't very good in actuality and can be beaten, she doesn't crush much ect. If scrubs do find something to "spam" there will be a way to beat it, easily.
