I have a 08 z06, it's all stock and the splitter is the only thing I've ever wanted my car is jet steam blue and it had 9,154 miles in August of 2019 and I started really driving it and now it has around 30 thousand miles. There's a fine line when doing things to ones car is alot easier to sell one when it's close to stock and sometimes we can go over board with coloring the badges wheels ect, I've seen beautiful cars over done with black, in the end what matters it's what you like and most people are never honest with us on how something looks. When I was growing up my dad hated bumper stickers it made a car look like crap, you can make a car look like a kids reveal model by doing too much as in decals where they shouldn't be, it's a grate looking clean car and doing too much makes it look cheap, the car has sexy lines doing to much takes that away. And it feels good to take my car out and woman love it and men to they think it's a new car.

While my preference is for the stock GS/Z06 lower valance (I think the ZR1 splitter looks like an Ethiopian Mursi with a lip plate), the one you have there is an example of quality fit and paint. Nice piece of gear. My GS had a ZR1 splitter on it that I replaced with a stock GS valance and one of the prior owners had used non-standard fastener locations (as was done on yours) and also had scraped the splitter on parking curbs and busted out a couple of the holes where the j-nuts clip onto on the front fascia, so I offer some advice to keep a CLOSE eye on your parking with that nice new splitter. May want to consider a front camera.
@InJasonsGarage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the thoughts and advice. If you look really closely at the video in a few spots, you will see where the paint is very slightly cracked at the bottom of the front fascia. That was me hitting a parking block. It hurt. And, if you look even closer, you might see a small bullet front camera mounted near the top of the lower front grille...for the reasons discussed. 😆

Nice splitter. Quick off topic question. How do you like the race ramps? What size are they and are you lowered all the way down on stock bolt? Just bought a 2006 cammed Z06 the is fully lowered on stock bolts. Been debating race ramps vs spending allot more on QuickJack. I'm leaning toward the race ramps 72" and rear tire cribs.
@InJasonsGarage3 жыл бұрын
I have the 72" and I love them. You can see them in the corner by my garage door in almost every video. For cars like ours, they are a must. And for "normal" cars, they are great too because they are not as steep as regular ramps and are just less freaky when driving up them. QuickJacks are nice but RaceRamps are easy to store, super lightweight and just plain handy.

Where did you get your custom black front/rear emblems?
Well Jason, this is AGV, aka Another Great Video! I'll try and handle my comments and/or questions in real time as I watch, stop, comment and then repeat. 1. Love the Jake Skull addition. I think you can get a small, like maybe 1" square logo of it in metal that would go just in front of the rear fender-wells. You'll know better than I. 2. As to American Hydrocarbon, can they "dip" it in a factory pattern CF? Also, it they paint, can it be had in Carbon Flash? Sorry, I see you addressed my question of dipping it. FWIW after going through TWO factory CF Splitters I'm looking for an alternative and I think this fills the bill, especially since I won't have to take out a loan like I would to make a factory purchase. That's it for now. But the day is still early.😉 Save the Wave.👋

I am new to the Corvette community. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and appreciate all the help you offer! I want to get a zr1 kit for my grandsport and I can’t decide what company to go with. Seems like Rpi has better prices than AHC but has some bad reviews. I don’t want to cheap out on the parts though, any insight to who you would go with? I wanted to get the spoiler, skirts, and splitter all from the same company so I know it matches perfect. Thanks Jason!
@InJasonsGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say. I had good luck with RPI but I heave heard that others haven't had the best responses from them. I really like the paint quality of American Hydrocarbon. I'd say it is a 50/50 situation. Sorry I can't help more. I do understand about wanting everything to match, I typically do as well. However, I have a C6.5 spoiler from one company, side skirts from another unknown company (they came with the car), and of course, the splitter from AH. :)

Jason, I have purchased a LS427/570 in Nov 20 waiting to swap into my 69RS Camaro. My question is do I need to worry about the valve drop in this newest GM crate engine. Scoggin Dickey where the motor came from brushed off the idea that there ever was a problem then or now. You have any idea if this is still a issue with new crate LS7 engines GM is currently making?
@InJasonsGarage3 жыл бұрын
Have you seen this playlist? kzbin.info/aero/PLq79AIsMUwndnzvkQXu5xbK2Z4BXUOxF8 There really is no clear answer to this. Some say it is an issue with all LS7s, some say crate engines don't have the issue, some say it was never an issue. For that last one, I would ask those who have had to replace their engines so see if they agree. My advice? Better safe that sorry.
