I think seeing Jean-Claude teaching his martial arts to kids and teenagers is a dojo like this is WORTH more than all the millions he made in his action star movie career. Of course, the stardom and being idolized by fans is like the sugar coating on it all. Going back to the essentials, making other happy and receiving respect and gratitude is what really gives meaning to one’s life.

I worked with some guys that worked with Van Damme for a special event. Van Damme had every right to not show or be in a bad mood--- as his father had just passed and the funeral was in Europe and his gig was in America. He showed up and knocked the ball out of the park. They offered to let him out of it due to the circumstances--- But he showed up with a great attitude and went above and beyond. Did the whole weekend, every stop, did nothing but healthy food, water, and fresh fruit. And did it with a super positive attitude the whole time.

There is no defeating it... We can only work to mitigate it and maintain our quality of life. I think he's doing a pretty good job of that 🙂

His leg movements are so effortless, makes it look easy. Growing up I'm the 80s and 90s, I am naturally a huge JCVD fan. While it's sad to see how he has aged, it's mostly in his face since he has said it himself, he is in better shape now that when he was in his 20s and 30s and it shows. The man is as limber as he's always been. The parents of those kids at this dojo need to them his movies so they can get an understanding of the legend he is and how lucky they were to be getting a lesson from him.

true but this dude shouldnt be teaching them anything. That isnt how you block ANYHTING. Arms out like that will get your knocked out...especially against a head kick. You need your arms close to your head. Your arms will get knocked into your head and knock you out. His kicking techniqe is also all for show. There is no power there at all

You arent training anyone correctly if you arent correctly doing the technique. I watched the entire video. LIterally none of his blocking was what you want do. There are other videos of him doing the same thing with adults. Blocking the same way. Fuck. He was teaching adults how to block the same way he was blocking in this video.
