-What is this CC? -Why is it in her boss?
@Dr.Death85202 сағат бұрын
In case this is a serious question (who can be sure on the internet): CC is of an email, sending it to additional recipients that usually aren't expected to respond (implied here is that the boss is also recieving this email to be aware of what is said). Carbon Copy is what it stands for. BCC also exists (B for Blind) is the same except the email addresses of these recipients will not be visible to anyone else recieving.
@bbagginsmcswaggins2 сағат бұрын

It's a field where you put secondary recipients of an email message. It stands for carbon copy.
@pal1d1nl1ghtСағат бұрын
@@lucaslennan3356 Carbon copy. It's an old term that is still used by email services today. Basically, you sent proof that the email was sent, but the proof is going to someone who wasn't the recipient of the email. In this case, they sent an email, and CCed their boss, so their boss got a copy of the email, so they know when it was sent, and to whom. It came from making a carbon copy of a piece of writing, where you would write on this special paper that you could peel the back off of, and it would be a copy of your writing, allowing you to keep a copy while sending the original.

The amount of people in the replies of this comment who don't know what CC'ing is kind of scary. There are only 2 with some thumbs up but still. I feel like a typical office worker, and nobody wants those feelings. Am I just so used to office politics of sending an e-mail with a CC (or a BCC for more secret e-mail sharing) that I thought it was just used worldwide and known by everybody.

For those wondering what CC means: CC is short for carbon copy, back before copy machines and printers when you wanted to send a document to multiple people you'd use "carbon paper" to make anything you do in a typewriter or with a pen show up on multiple pages. When sending an email nowadays you can address multiple recipients, use CC, and also BCC (blind carbon copy, no one else can see the email went to them) all in one go, if you want. Let's say for some reason I needed to send an email to two people who have been causing trouble for some company I work for. I might address the email to both of them, CC my boss, and BCC the company lawyer. In this case it's clear who the email is to and who else can see. Except for the lawyer, who is the only one who knows they were BCCed.
