Interesting hearing you say, white belts with colored belts. Helps the white belts learn faster, thus helping everyone in the room.

Probably helps higher belts consolidate what they know, find gaps in their knowledge, and enables them to become great teachers like their professor

That should be standard. My professor does the same thing but he has from the same line of schooling

my 1 piece of feedback for this gym is to make a real effort to stop the immature rollers from going too hard on white belts. for example, when the immature guy attempts a RNC and can’t get in, he gives a face squashing / jaw breaking use of force … this is out of line. it isn’t technical. also if you see a spazz rolling, have them learn to understand calmness and stop spazzing. the black belts i met were all very calm and patient. i appreciated them. however, the immaturity of some of the blue and purples was disturbing. i think if the black belts would tell them strongly and convincingly how to grow in their maturity, the place will be much better. i still give it 9/10. but the immaturity of maybe 20% of the people trying to be “macho” is nuts. i am probably stronger physically than a lot of the people there, but i go easy with my power and take it down to 30% because i am learning technique. i get an immature there going 110% on me trying to break my jaw. of course i don’t knee him in the kneck. but if the masters and leaders step up and immediately stop these kind of attacks, it would be AWESOME. i did enjoy the format of the classes, with a lesson and practicing it. the black belts patience is appreciated
