I know I'm late to the party, but think a lot of viewers could benefit from this tip. I'm a size 32x28. Last year, I swallowed my pride and started buying jeans from the kids department. Levi's 14 husky and Gap 18 husky both fit me great off the rack, have a variety of washes and cuts, and retail (at full price) for less than $45 pair! Between easily finding them on sale for around $10 - $20 off and getting to skip the tailor, this saved me a lot of cash when I dropped 35 lbs and had to replace my entire wardrobe - a good problem to have, I know. Hope this helps. All that said, this was still an excellent video!

I’m glad Peter Manning NYC and Ash & Erie came a long way and now they offer a huge variety in jeans, shirts, jackets, coats, you name it. I’m a very happy customer with both companies.

Peter manning would be a good choice. Love the classic look. I wear american eagle skinny flex because of comfort, fit and stretch. Thanks for the video Brock!

I am going to order a pair from Peter Manning. I recently ordered a long sleeve shirt from Peter Manning and it is the best fitting shirt that I own. And with no tax (out of state), no shipping fee, free returns for money back or exchanges, what's not to like. So thank you, Brock.
@omehk7 жыл бұрын
I have both. I prefer Peter Manning when I'm wearing a shirt un-tucked since I think they look better. I prefer Ash and Erie when I am wearing my shirt tucked because I think low-rise looks looks more modern and youthful when tucking in your shirt.

I am 5'6" tall I weigh about 130# and I have a 29 inch waist...I ordered some jeans in a Big Boy's size 18 Regular and they fit perfectly ( most name brands also make a slim fit big boy's jean too)...Finally I had jeans that fit...the crotch is perfect and they are not baggy in the butt area. The ones I bought are name brand jeans, most brands make jeans for big boy sizes. Best thing is that they do not cost anywhere near 100 bucks. Finally I look good in jeans. They also make "husky" sizes for the guys a bit heavier. So glad I did it. The jeans I get are cut for a guy who is 65-66 inches tall, which is exactly my height. Try it guys.

This may be a silly question, but if there is less material needed for a shorter inseam, why are these brands more costly when they don’t need extra material for longer inseams? Is it due to the lack of consumers, so they need to have bigger margins to stay in business or why are they so expensive? Thanks

I've bought a fair share of Levi, and I believe it wouldn't be very helpful. This is simply because Levi's quality control is... mediocre at best. I've bought the same pair of jeans from them numerous times, same size, and had them fit vastly different from each other. Some 30's are practically 32's, some lengths come shorter, some longers. Threads coming undone two days after moderate wear. I have a couple that work for me, but I've returned more levi jeans than i've kept. Also, being 5'4, finding a pair of 29's off their site that happen to be more of a 28 are the best luck i've had fit wise with them... they don't cater to people of more modest stature when it comes to length.

My 2 cents... up until turn 16 the majority of pants are denim light wash, mid wash, dark wash, grey, black. Btwn 16 and 25 you start experimenting with chinos, corduroy, & wool blend trousers. Btwn 25 and up move on to silk blends, 100% wool trousers, mohair. As you curate these other elements to your style , you create more style options. At any phase, you can get away with only 2 pair of jeans: 1 mid 1 dark wash. Beyond that, one could add a grey and /or black but that is the stopping point as theses are the colors that are least memorable and you can wear very often and no one would question if you wore that yesterday. You can't do that w/ white, green, red yellow...

Style tips for untall and nonwide guys. Good stuff. And, the topic of jeans is near and dear to my heart. But, let's be honest; the pants featured above are casual slacks that happen to be made from denim (or, a denim-ish material). They are not JEANS. I'm a blue-collar, working man. I need JEANS. I beat my jeans to death. I crawl under cars, trucks, and houses in my jeans. My jeans become intimate with grease, and mud. Also, I wear boots. Cowboy boots. Engineer boots. Tapered legs just don't cut it for me. I need that boot cut. I'm 5'6", and 115lbs. I'm also a long haul truck driver. My clothes need to fit right, so I don't look like a kid in Daddys clothes, playing trucker. I have also taken a wife, so I need to be ready to go to dinner, at the drop of a hat. (Married guys know what I'm talking about, here.) So, I need to be able to throw on a collared shirt, tuck it into the jeans that I'm already wearing, slip into a sport jacket, and slide out the door. (I hope the grungy jean look never goes out of style!) Typically, I wear Wranglers. They cost about $20 a pair, and I can abuse them like a rented, red-headed step-mule for about a year and a half. Problem is, they only kinda fit. A 29" waist will suffice, but 28" fits better. And, it's hard to find a 29; 28 is a unicorn. Plus, they tend to be tighter in areas that could be looser, and looser in places that could be tighter. I'd love to find jeans made for extreme abuse, for boot wearing men, that will fit me properly. Also, at a reasonable price. ($20- $40, a pair). Does anyone suppose that to be possible?
