This is what i love bout Jean than most of foreign KZbinrs in Bali that I've watched 👀, most of em' just talk bout Canggu , Berawa, batu bolong areas ,all the Cafes and restaurants around there . Well if you really want to taste the real Bali culinary, go to Denpasar areas, explore there, go to local warungs, go to the traditional markets. I've been living in Bali for almost 9 years, i used to live and worked in Legian then i moved to Kerobokan close to Tiara Gatsu . That's what I've been doing with my husband, we went to explore Denpasar area if we were craving good Balinese /Indonesian foods , we went to Teuku umar, Renon, Sesetan , we also went to Dalung area, and Sanur also have some good foods . Thank you Jean, watching your channel makes me feel happy and Nostalgic 😊, i miss Bali already. Will come back there soon. ❤

How are you Jean? Feeling better I hope.. Stitches removed? Anway, I never had Nasi Jinggo in a dedicated shop like this and with so much varieties.. Always on the streets peddled on someone's head. Cost 1k each last time. Usually just standard nasi putih (edited.. I forgot the little strands of mee, lovely to mix with the rice) with a few strand of shredded chicken and shredded omelette with sambal and soooo fragrant. Sounds simple but such an unexplainable joy of eating out a small portion in a banana leaf. Washed down with Bali kopi in a little cup from another peddler. But this place does looks good.. so much to choose. LOL on the "headquarters" part, but it sure fits the place!

Yah love the mie that's always mixed in. so cheap and so handy!!!! but yeah this Om Gundul place is awesome for the varierty and all the side sticks - just makes for a fun outing for nasi jinggo lah. Hi guys. Lovely video. Always fun to watch. Thumbs up to you two. The warm rice & chicken wrapped in banana leaf is grilled rice (it's called nasi bakar). Btw, it's otak-otak, not otah otah. The last dish you guys ate I think they are nugget, probably veggie nugget. Oh, one last thing. "Mantap" is not steady. When you say "Mantap" about yummy food, the word means "Awesome" or "Great". But when you hear someone say "Mantap" (in flat tone) after hearing the plane schedule is cancelled & the face turns sour, the word "Mantap" has different meaning. in cases like this the word means "How awfull" or sort of like "Dang!"

The mysterious "skin" might not be skin. It could be cuttlefish. Sotong kembang in SG/MY if your familiar. It's texture is like softened tendons but a bit rubbery.
@JeanVoronkova2 жыл бұрын
Ooh I think it was maybe pork skin perhaps? Cuttlefish has quite a distinctive taste that’s yummy but I think this stick wasn’t it hahaha
