An interesting note: In MOP, Mokvar, Deliana's Horde equivalent, became a miniboss in Siege of Orgrimmar and was killed. Therefore, as of now, Deliana is the only surviving member of the Veiled Blade.

I remember reading that dialogue as a child. It haunted me, helped me become who I am in the face of capacities for evil, knowing what humans and other creatures are capable of:) Also thought it was interesting to see historic parallels in The Plaguelands, especially since so many of the Scholomance Scourge bore Slavic names. Many people think of genocides and plagues, the Holocaust and the Black Death for instance, but I noted the Russian and French revolution too! Were the original inhabitants intended to symbolize aristocrats and does the Scourge symbolize a revolution that has lost its course? Besides inspiration from Vlad the Impaler, did Blizz intend to criticize both parties of the Cold War, and to condemn the Bolshevikh Revolution and the royal monarchs it ''violently deposed''? It made me think a lot about what people lose on their track to a ''better world'', from Nazis to Bolshevikhs to the Western world I call home, what they are capable of satisfying a goal greater than themselves. I made an unspoken promise to do better, but I caught myself thinking these people we rightfully find terrifying must have told themselves the same. That's what makes them so terrifying - given the certain circumstances, anyone can become a Theolen Krastinov. To defy this is not only beautiful, but it could very well be the course to deliver you to that fate. Riveting stuff imo:D

I had no idea about this! This quest gives so much more width to the world of Azeroth for some reason. Either the spectral assassins, the unresolved nature of this boss or the ghostly resident of Booty Bay that explains why that one building made me wonder for 15 years why the devs couldn't place one NPC in it. In any case makes me look at every nook and cranny of the game with suspicion from now on!

Funny... i JUST killed Lord Valtalak yesterday in RETAIL. He had not been avaliable for a while, but i heard you could summon him again, so i went with my warrior and got the staff. As of today, all of the bosses from that chain can be summoned again. I went around testing the brazier and it did work!

Except that you have to jump up from lower Spire to access the upper. Also, you need to get the ability to access old scholomance.

I played rogue in classic, was pretty much required to get T 0.5. The 4/8 Darkmantle bonus - chance on hit to gain 35 energy - is BIS for a long time. Think i even went into Naxx with it.

Not only have i kept the old brazier of Invocation all this time, but I'm currently doing a roleplay arc utilizing it. Before war within, only dire maul and lower blackrock were still workable. After war within, the others came back.

Yes, there is the same questline available for Horde with an NPC in Orgrimmar named Mokvar, nearly all the same steps and rewards just a different character you’re helping out. :)

I started the game too late, when classic gear was already irrelevant, but I did collect both tier 0 and tier 0.5 for my personal amusement, before transmogrification was introduced. I also had The Postmaster set, which doesn’t look all too good on an undead 😁

Yeah, that was during the time of classic, where we were weak characters trying to survive while adventuring and fighting against ennemies much stronger than us that we couldn't possibly hope to kill even if we did somehow defeat them. Nowadays do we kill gods and deities like they are nothing, we extingish their existences, alter realities, travel through time and forge new histories. It's invevitable that the stakes in the story eventually go higher and higher, but I feel like WoW has lost the plot way too much way too soon.
