Awesome ! My 2006 Jeep Liberty recently spilled lots of Transmission fluid due to a loose clip inside the end fitting of the return transmission cooler line bolted on the side of the transmission. You mentioned few key words in your video: "Cooler Line End Fittings". Bought a new one at Autozone for $17 and I am back on the road . 🛣. Saved me hundreds 💰 from going to a mechanic ... Thanks 🤩!!!

I've got a 2005 Jeep liberty crd. I'm hoping to have it ready to tow a small rv camper by next summer. Thanks for this video. There isn't a ton of content out there in these jeeps.

Thanks a lot! I hope it can help someone! I did a lot of research before I attempted this but was sick of the existing trans cooler lines leaking and I'm hoping this is a permanent fix!

Great videos on the KJ with terrific explanations but shpuldn't the cooler lines go horizontally and the fins vertically? I am looking at just this job and was of the understanding that inlet at bottom/return at top would lead to a self bledding situation or have I missed sometghng? Many thanks again for the videos. Kept prompting on your line assembly The nut mate, don't forget the nut. You didn't. Cheers.

Hey Mike, thanks for the video, just curious, I’ve added aftermarket transmission coolers to several vehicles, and I have always added them in line with the existing cooler, maybe I missed it but why did you go direct to the aftermarket cooler rather than put it in series with the existing cooler?

So I’m thinking about buying a Liberty CRD with 133k miles. I’ve done two Fummins conversions but just don’t that much about this engine. Two things about this vehicle concerned me. Light to heavy diesel smoke under WOT and a fair amount just cruising down the road. After the thing was warmed up I took the oil cap off and put the palm of my hand over the opening to feel for blow by. I ended up with black oil all over the palm of my hand. I wasn’t breathing as bad as a 6.4 powerstroke but it was close. Have any thoughts?

He's got some videos on EGR delete and cleaning the intake. The combo of EGR soot and PCV oil creates a nasty build up in the intake choking the engine.

Curious question for you, how did you refill the lines to ensure that no air got back into the system. Based on your comments on how the original cooler was installed, it sounds like that may have been a design flaw of the OEM version. Thanks.

Scott Gephart I’m not 100% sure but in my research most aftermarket coolers had the lines enter at the top and I read this is to keep fluid from draining out back into the transmission while the engine is off there were a few times my transmission would take a while to engage and it seemed to fix the issue, while the cooler is still higher than the transmission I’m hoping it does not syphon back in and so far haven’t had any issues. And as far as refilling the refilling the lines I just let the transmission pump it through the lines seemed to work ok. I’m not sure if it was an oem flaw as my crd already had a aftermarket cooler I think was installed incorrectly. Tho the oem cooler also has the lines at the bottom allowing draining to occur but idk how much of a issue this is but it certainly fixed mine , thanks for the question!

are you gonna do any performance upgrades for example straight pipe, or lift kit? i have a jeep liberty crd i did all the fixes egr, provent. i was thinking about straight piping it though.
@GitItGarage5 жыл бұрын
its got 113k on it now and we do have some plans to do those upgrades , the stock suspension is pretty old at this point so an upgrade is almost the better option Maybe a straight pipe as well, also thinking of some sort of locking differential in the rear. Thanks for watching!
