Just seen this video Russ, spot-on! Now subscribed! I have recently taken delivery of my Renegade Trailhawk 4xe 'bought' via PCP here in Portugal. First thing: change from the stock motorway tyres to A/Ts. I'm tempted to try one of your Pyrenees hotel adventures but for me the other big issue with the Renegade 0 (apart from its purchase cost) is the effective range of this 4xe Trailhawk. For say a few day's serious off-roading it would need an easily accessible charging point at the end of each day -ideally at or very near the overnight hotel. That to me is a major hurdle which could become easier to overcome as more charging points are installed throughout the EU. It does not help that the petrol tank has been reduced in size from the standard Renegade -to make room for the battery etc so even petrol range when off-roading 'slow and steady and in crawl mode' is not generous. I would love to take it to Morocco but needing petrol station stops every 150 miles? Not when I was there last! Any thoughts? Have a fuel bowser in the convoy -I don't think so! As it is, though, for my normal use = local road-running under 80 miles. Plus exploring off-road in the sometimes steep Algarve hills, gravel trails with gully crossings and for negociating the occasional muddy river bed - and rtb at the end of the day - it's the perfect vehicle!

Good reviews and comments on the Renegade 4xe. I have been looking at these recently and the non4Xe variants ARE cheaper, but now NOT AWD. The hybrid adds about 6K to the price I think, which is not worth it on the face of things from a petrol cost saving perspective (about 720 gallons of petrol) , but is from an emissions perspective. Also, if you want anything small with any off road capability, there aint much choice across the small SUVs and especially hybrids. I am going from a Wrangler to a Compass. Did look at the Renegades, but liked the little more comfort and space the Compass has to offer. Have you or can you test drive a Compass 4xe? :)

how many miles did you achieve each day on electric. Did you get 30 miles or near out of each overnight charge. There are a lot of reviews saying that it is nearer 20 miles. If you used £5.46 fuel at £1.24 per litre and 4 charges at 17 pence per kwhour putting 10 kwatt back into the battery each night that equates to 2.2 gallons petrol to go 223 miles ie 101mpg including price of electric. amazing.

Hi Russ for your £5.47 and multiple charges, how many miles did you clock up?
