Am I going to need to take the skid plate off to be able to get in there for the transmission connection? Looks super tight

It is pretty tight but we did do ours with the skid plate installed.

So this kit does away with factory check valve installed in the one flex line?
@TabooCustoms2 жыл бұрын
Great question, we do have the 32RH which would typically have a check valve, but you are correct this kit does not have one. We haven't notice much if any delay in the time from starting and shifting to the transmission engaging but we will keep an eye on it. The prior pieced together setup was also missing the check valve.

Been reading forums trying to figure out what lines I have on my 97 tj (alum rad and aftermarket lines). Both where done by prev owner, I'm replacing the radiator (leaking) and wanted to make sure my new one is compatible. Anyway thanks for the video!!! Just in case I mess up my lines are just the ends (rad side) avail?
@TabooCustoms Жыл бұрын
Depending on how your hoses hook up you might be able to get different ends. With out seeing the ends or the hoses its hard to tell, I know the hoses I got had fittings for the lines that were push on so the part that connected to the radiator was short and separate.
@theroc77 Жыл бұрын
@@TabooCustoms Its the same "Push to connect fittings" as your setup.

trying to do this job myself. any advice on getting the old lines out? I cannot for the life of me get them out.
@Archivist953 Жыл бұрын
Hi Tim - My buddy and I (both older and former great mechanics), decided to skip it. This task, (as I predicted), is a job for a 'Lift'. The top fitting is almost inaccessible even with the Jeep safely jacked up. Its a 'Hellish' undertaking, definitely not for the squeamish or even an 'old pro' The shop near me will accomplish this either from a pit or on a lift and its a good bet he'll drop the tranny fluid in the process. I'm not saying its impossible but extremely difficult. Plus there are numerous cautions and anticipated problems online. I would strongly consider taking it to your local shop, (good luck my friend). :)

@@Archivist953 yeah I think I'm gonna have to take the exhaust off to do it.

This was a nightmare! No idea how to get them behind the exhaust. Ran them a different route and I can’t stop the lines from leakin at radiator.
@TabooCustoms Жыл бұрын
What brand lines did you use? We do sometimes have to loosen or remove the line then clean up or realign the fitting and retighten. Getting them behind the exhaust can be a pain, sometimes we will bend them to get them behind it and straighten them out after.

I noticed when running your tj tranny lines there was not a check valve in one line do you need it for a jeep or not thanks
@TabooCustoms7 ай бұрын
Yes stock there was a check valve in the line. I believe you can still get lines with the valve but the general consensus over the years has been that its not needed.
