Got a 60" TV hooked to KZbin and your playing all day every day ,ether watching or playing in the background. I own a business with 10 trucks and 6 pickup Im basically servicing or fix on every day. Watching you gets me all fired up to work on stuff again . 👍👍 Good that you share all the stuff you have learned over the years with us. Really appreciate it!!! I'll be sure to get some of you swag and stuff on Amazon. Thanks again!!

At GM we would take a mag welder and pop the fastener so the wire would weld to it than cut the wire to desired length then you can fish the fastener in with the wire as a guide.
@f.k.burnham84916 жыл бұрын
As a weird thought, you could have shoved a small magnet into the frame to hold the "nut plate" in place, so it wouldn't easily shift. I used that trick quite often to hold nuts in place in electronics equipment. I would also hot glue a string to the magnet, so I could remove it easily.

For the threaded insert plate, try using a magnet to position it. Reduce your torque setting to allow for the fluid film's lubricant effect.

If you use bolts with the heads cut off to hold the nut plate in position as you fit the bracket you can then remove them one at a time and bolt it down and a piece of string on the plate helps as well

Easy way to put any nuts behind the frame if you can't get your fingers in there to hold it is to weld a strong wire to the nut like some towbar installations do that way you can maneuver the nut more and hold it at the same time

At my Friends garage- he Professionally does the complete Fluid Film service; drill holes where needed, spray inside stuff, then rubber caps. A trick/tip for you & others: get a 1 or 2 quart sauce pan, and either a propane or electric hot plate (he uses a plastic container in a microwave) and heat the Fluid Film to 200F. When sprayed hot- it creeps better, and goes way further in coverage amount. Remember- the "lubricant" in the aerosol can is NOT the same formula as the "undercoating" stuff. There is a noticeable difference. 2-3 HOT quarts should be enough for your entire Jeep. Shove lengths of wire or zip ties in door, sill, and other small drain holes to prevent clogging, remove afterwards.

@Bobbywolf646 жыл бұрын
You likely could have skipped the t-case drop spacers. The SYE adds lots of length so driveline vibes wouldn't be an issue. Unless maybe there was somewhere the driveline may hit? Keeping everything tucked up as high as possible to prevent hanging up on a rock or stump is always a good idea. When I put the SYE in my YJ, (TINY rear DS), I was able to remove my t-case drop and tuck the belly up.

The torque shouldn't even be 80ft lbs dry if it's an M12x1.5 nut. You're almost doubling the torque spec then blaming the fluid film when it breaks.
@throttlebottle59066 жыл бұрын
140 foot pounds, is what's printed in owners manual's, which also lists it as 190 Newton Meters.. most all the latest/high performance GM say 140 in the manual. many of the trucks have been 120 to 140 for years also. decent listings here and hey cover most all vehicles ;) www.discounttiredirect.com/learn/wheel-torque#chevrolet

sometimes with the digital torque wrench,when you tried to torqued it,you know your close to the torque spec, but it still doesnt beep. i usually drop down the torque spec like to 30, 50 then 65ft/lb.then it will beep. if you keep going and tried to torqued to 65ft/lb ,it will either strip or break.
