I see a lot of JK and JL owners never using their lockers like it cost them money to flip the switch. I bought my first jeep in 79 and one year later I installed lockers and haven't been without sense. You have more control and you you don't tear up the trail spinning. That WJ is sweet

Wranglers have become more of a trend/bandwagon than anything. So a majority of the buyers are only buying because they are popular, and since Rubicon is the top trim level, that would be what people would want. A majority of JK/JL Rubicon owners likely don't understand offroad very well. But that doesn't mean they are all that way either. Lockers are definitely beneficial in many scenarios and the WJ will have them at some point. Also, thanks!

Heck yea! Love the content. What's your tire pressure here?

Appreciate that! It was a fun one to make. Tire pressure is probably around 24-25 here. Just the standard pressure I run them at. Wasn’t really worth airing down here.

Need some lockers

These axles will be staying as they are. But don’t worry, big changes to come.

@@engineeringoverland I'd rather have the VariLock axles than lockers. I've seen fully locked Wranglers torque right off the trail when super muddy. Your dad went right up the hill because he had momentum behind him. He didn't start at the bottom at a dead stop.

There's a time and place for lockers. Trying to drive straight down a muddy trail is not that time (at least for the front). Obviously limited slip and lockers both have their advantages and will meet each person's needs a bit differently. In my opinion, I will take lockers any day. But with that being said, I am very thankful for my varilocks in the meantime! My dad was likely not even locked here (MAYBE the rear). It ultimately came down to me trying a challenge, and him simply using momentum to go over. Tried to explain it in the video, that with enough momentum, we could shoot right up any of these hills.
