Thank you! Putting an XJ engine in my YJ and while I knew they were different and that the XJ had the adapter, I found basically no info in the FSM about this and how to make sure the XJ adapter is deleted properly.

On 96 xj is there another shorter filter that would Work if I eliminated the filter housing? After changing all seals more than once I keep having a leak. THANKS

Im currently putting a long block from titan engines back in my 96 xj. What do i need to do to make this work as there is no adapter on the long block?

check ebay and buy an adapter or install an oil filter relocation kit

The standard XJ / TJ filter is plenty big enough. A taller one might interfere

Depends on if you have room. The threads for the filter are 3/4" x 16, On my WJ I use a Ford PH8A (Fram part #) (NAPA# 1515) sized filter and it fits fine on my WJ. BTW the gasket is 2.5" diameter, so any filter that has a 3/4" x16 thread and a 2.5" gasket will physically fit, BUT, some filters have different anti-drainback valve spring pressures that might possibly cause harm. (ANY filter that will fit a Ford 300 six, will work if it fits)

Yes, but the MJ has the same space limitation as the XJ so I would not recommend
