The Barracks Trail is located on the border of Zion National Park. The trail can be ran in both directions. The Barracks Trail runs from Mount Carmel Junction to Coral Pink Sand Dunes. We ran the trail from Coral Pink to Mt Carmel Junction. The trail is mostly sand and stream crossings with some sand spots pretty deep and some water crossings can be deep depending on the time of year you run it. Boston and I got to spend 8 minutes enjoying an off-road adventure from the comfort of our own home. Now my six-year-old says he needs a jeep and wants to do that trail! Great video.

bquade70 I appreciate your interest and Comment! Next week we are suppose to hit triple digits. So about this time of year it heats up! The start of this trail at coral pink is higher in elevation. Than the main canyon in Zion. Trails can get very hot starting in June and going through October. But with you coming from Lake Havasu, you should be good! You know heat!

My wife and I are planning a trip out there this year. I like the look of this trail. It will be just the two of us in one Jeep. Would we be foolish to run this one on our own with no fellow Jeepers to help with recovery? Your video made this one look rather mild. Thoughts? Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mark, I’d say it’s pretty mild, just take weather into consideration. If the water is flowing high it will make it more difficult, but that’s probably the only thing that could make this trail more difficult. You’re right it’s a pretty mild trail. Safe travel!

Wouldn’t surprise me! My old CJ is way more narrow than new rigs and new rigs run it all the time!

Do you think the bottlenecks by the rivers would be too narrow for a gen 3 4runner?

Yes, a 4 runner would be great on this trail!
