I saw them in Toronto July 18 2019 ( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. And don't forget, he was in the Super Group of all the Groups the Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan.

Bev does not get enough credit for his part in all this. Bev was a huge part of the Move-sound as well as a huge part of the ELO-sound! He is a great and very musical drummer and a very nice person!

@@snsnshhhs663 It isn't wholly a "facade" per say, but it's unfortunately the product of a behavioural double standard. He's definitely proven himself loyal and amiable to a number of his friends and collaborators and I won't deny their accounts, but it's difficult to view anyone who essentially sued their bassist into financial ruin, vowed to divide the band's funds more fairly only to pocket the majority himself (in a situation where most of the other band members were legally hired hands paid relatively low fees for a group of ELO's late-70s stature) and has quietly refused to acknowledge almost any of his bandmates' contributions to ELO (or deaths, in the case of Louis Clark) due to the Part II situation as "humble" in a genuine sense, as painful as it is to consider the details.

I am so proud to say that I got to see them perform that particular show. It was magnificent and still gives me goose bumps when I see it. I've not seen a performance equal to it since.

Can you image a group today if they had to do what Jeff did. Tell the top acts today that they must write, produce, play all the instruments, and help out producing the little people like, The Beatles, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and on and on. Do this for about 50 years with stellar success, get in Rock N Roll hall of fame.and you have done a quarter of what he does.

I love ELO I saw them 6 time through out the 70s & early 80s.For me Jeff Lynne is the Quintessential Intellectual Rockstar.Although two core Members have passed away their Enduring impact will be a Testament to the Incredible contribution this band made to music and pop culture.I wish Jeff would do a tour.I know he hates touring but his fans must Convince him.I suggest an International campaign with a Mantra of "tour Jeff tour".lol

Missed that iconic tour - although I was already a huge fan then I was a little too young for gigging - Time (Edinburgh, 16 December 1981) was my first concert and TBH can't see it ever being equalled or surpassed. It was one of those moments when you can't actually believe you are there.

@kingdomofchrissmith as far as I'm aware there are going to be 3 eps...1 each for 60s British invasion, 70s stadium rock and 80s punk. Sad to say downunder we never got the full OOTB/Big Night show (I was too young for the Randwick concert in 1978) and never got the Time live shows.

@kingdomofchrissmith watched this last night thans to the wonders of a certain program *wink wink nudge nudge* and thought it was pretty decent. Only prob was the segment dealing with the OOTB/Big Night tour was positioned in the show as if it was mounted around 1975/76, followed by Wings Over America as THE stadium rock concert tour in the US. Course ELO had larger grosses in 1978, surpassing MacCartney's act. The facts in the doco didn't quite fit the narrative.

I guess the question that should be asked is.....are Jeff and Bev back on speaking/working terms now? 2nd......Jeff is pushing out a new record of covers....Great!! But he also stated he's putting a CD or CDs out of remakes to old ELO songs.....WHY Jeff....do you really need to pick up more royalty checks without ex-collegues names on the checks??

Saw the "spaceship" tour at the Pontiac Silverdome in August 1978. Jeff was right - the spaceship was better than the concert. Too much reliance on taped music; too much reliance on glitz and spectacle rather than performance and sound; too big a facility for good sound and too big for ELO to sell out (they added Heart as a 2nd opener to aid sales).
