0:46 - I usually agree with Jeff... but this time? 1:35 - Jeff's Morning routine 1:57 - Do I agree with his macros? Why / Why not? 3:48 - Jeff's reasoning for his protein? Agree? 5:42 - Tracking macros... Jeff vs Greg. 7:53 - Fat intake. Agree or disagree? 8:36 - Multivitamins? 9:27 - Pre workout meal. Is it really fueling your workout? Fasted training? 10:50 - pre workout timing. 14:29 - Intra workouts - good or bad? 17:44 - AHA! The real reason people were telling me to watch this video. 20:24 - post workout - is jeff contradicting his own research? 26:14 - pre workout (workout #2) 27:14 - final meal of the day and pre bed meals. Do you need calories at bedtime? 30:44 - Is nakie having a heart attack?

Re: the points made at about 17:30 about food absorption from the stomach, he's right. I'm a doctor and part of my practice is to assess gastric emptying. The test often takes 4 hours after eating a meal (usually scrambled eggs, sometimes oatmeal). For eggs, at 1 hour 37-90% is left in your stomach. 2 hours, 30-60%. 4 hours, 0-10%. So the point is that what is really fueling your workout is probably what you ate at least 4 hours before. I think preworkout meals are best for either when the workout may be long, or when you are so hungry that you won't be able to train (assuming you already ate that day). I don't know that fasted cardio has any benefit, aside from preventing you having to use the bathroom and interrupting your training session from a full stomach during training (especially during a run and when returning after a layoff). I try to avoid anything substantial in the couple of hours before a session unless I really need it. I prefer a liquid if it's close to training time because they absorb faster. Fasted cardio takes a lot more planning. Even when I used intermittent fasting for a while, I usually trained after I'd eaten something. I tend to train in the evenings except on weekends or days off from work when I have more flexibility.

I was getting interested in counting macros before finding this channel, but now I'm here. Basically, what I've learned is, eat when you're hungry, make sure you're food is healthy but eat what you want, weight training burns pretty much no calories.

Great content as usual Greg! I know some folks say that you sound like Gilbert Gottfried, but when you soften your voice up a bit, yet still maintain your passionate expression, you sound just like one of my favorite speakers; Professor Jordan Peterson. Keep up the excellent work!

Some of us are not choosing to abstain from meat for dietary reasons and don’t claim that all meat consumption kills people. Abstaining from high consumption of charred red meat for health reasons makes sense, but fish hasn’t been necessarily been proven unhealthy, the reason to abstain from that is for other reasons such as sustainability and ocean health. It’s quite possible to get omegas from other sources.
