In today's video we take a closer look at my 2020 Shelby GT350R. Thankfully the entire car isn't fake, but we did find some things we need to address immediately. Hopefully this video helps you not make any of these mistakes!

I know it's tempting, but if you want to differentiate yourself from most of the other KZbinrs that sell out, just don't give the douchey dramatic clickbait titles. You could have titled it "buying a GT350R, what to look for"

I hear ya Ryan, but there really wasn’t anything that was click bait/dishonest with this title. The first portion of the title is a question, not a statement, the second portion is telling people not to make the same mistake that I did. If I titled the video: “I bought a fake GT350R” I would completely agree that is click bait.

But if you want to be better than the others, don't post titles like "you'll never believe the damage to my car!" And then it's a vid about how they got bugs on their car or it was bumped by a shipping cart.

I would of been super pissed with that BS splitter. Man, that sucks bro. When I sent my R to Fathouse I changed my carbon wheels for their Toyo setup pkg. I wasn’t a fan of the carbon wheels. Got ‘em sitting in my garage now. I didn’t know they cost so much. That’s crazy. So not worth it to me…. But thank you for these tips. He min this video was over I went out to check my wheels. LoL. Yes, they’re real. LoL 😮‍💨

Has the front and rear bumper been repainted? The colors don't match up it seems like. The bumpers look darker than the rest of the cars paint. At 1:41 and 3:19 Is where i notice it a lot.

Yep… especially when I mentioned the splitter wasn’t installed correctly, he blamed the dealer. He also mentioned something about being able to buy a fake splitter which should’ve been a red flag. Either way I’m happy with the car, I blame myself since I know you have to be on point when checking out a car. My fault for missing it. A Raptor in Icon silver is clean!!!

Man when I bought mine the first time I notice the rear wheels did not have the white heat resistant material on them and it totally tripped me out I did some research and found out it only came on the front wheels, I’m happy to say mine has the carbon fiber wheels. I’m not gonna lie though my head almost exploded.

@@JeffAshton I bet a lot, I took my car to a local Ford dealership for an oil chance before I did I called them to make sure that had all the oil and filter for the R the lady I spoke to was so confused she kept asking me what the difference was between my car and a GT.

The dealer should have replaced the splitter if they damaged it. I wouldn't take 1000 bucks. I would take a new OEM splitter.

Did you look for the adjustable camber plates that are dealer installed and come with all 19+ 350’s with the handling pack up. Dealerships never install them without you seeing it first. They’re like $350. Nothing crazy. But since you mentioned a sort of resale angle there that definitely matters. At least to have the part to install yourself.

Check the door hangers, sub woofer hardware and any other hardware for rust / oxidation. Also light fixtures, my rear taillight was coming a part. Not damaged but splitting, as if it was pulled out of the mold to early. I bought a GT from a dealership in Tampa, maybe the weather or environment change was not good for the car as it was originally registered in Dearborn MI. Luckily the car was still under warranty, but I did not see those defects until I returned home in TN.

Dude your rotors are flat. I have a gt350 2018 and they all came with drilled rotors from factory. Looks like someone did a brake job and didn't use OEM rotors

I just got my owners supplement kit from Ford for my 2019 350r. The only thing it didn’t come with was the flatplane crank and the display with the chassis number for it. Sucks the old owner didn’t give it up with the car.

The mistake was buying gt350s in the first place. I drove both a gt350 and a 2018 z06 both same price no comparison between the two. the 350 looks good but is gutless and nowhere near handles like the z06. to each there own. just not a fan of these cars. overpriced underpowered.

Welcome to The Cobra R family. Once all issues have been investigated on the new car, I suspect the blue GT350 will be the car that is sold. Silver is the color I wanted but I have a white R. These cars are so rare. I have only seen two of them in the last three years while driving on the road. You may see more at a cars and coffee meet up. Congrats! Enjoy! Be safe! While taking a spirited drive on back roads with HR727, a Turkey decided to commit suicide while entering a curve. There where three of them and one charged strait into drivers side splitter. I did have one mounting hole on the front rip open on the facia but using a thin aluminum and epoxy it took care of the issue. I found a OEM splitter on ebay that was about $600. Now I have another splitter ripped off. I noticed non OEM splitters on ebay and I wonder if that is what yours has? The facia needs replacing and I have thought about using speedkore full carbon fiber front facia, if I can get the weight difference. I would paint it and also go with carbon fiber hood with GT4 like venting. But I am still thinking on that.

Is the R distinguished from the 350 variant on the title? I am curious. It stinks that some people are so devious. I think if those are the only issues you have consider yourself lucky. The GT350s are very special. I dislike the fact that they were discontinued.

Nope, we had it built but got to choose the plan and a bunch of options. I’ll be doing a video on everything eventually. The builder was a complete PITA, and would definitely go directly to a custom builder if we had to do it again.

Hey Jeff congrats on the new addition with the R. I was shopping for one myself for months with no luck. Dealers are charging insane mark ups still for a used 17,18 & even more for 19s & 20s! After so much frustration & no luck i decided to just get a new 21 ZL1 1LE that on order from a Dealer in Alabama. picking up in a couple of weeks hopefully as the car is sitting in Kentucky waiting for a chip ofcourse! Thanks Reeve! You’re spot on, what I found was dealers were snatching up all the fairly priced Rs on the market and relisting them 15k-20k higher. With low inventory you have to be fast or dealers will grab them. I looked at the 1LE as well, definitely a badass ride you have headed your way!

Yeah, these wheels are no joke! Probably won’t street the wheels, but probably will track them lol. I did request the shift knob, he said he sold it unfortunately. I already bought the OEM replacement though for around $90.
