JC: what makes this work is the balance between respecting the original material without being a slave to it. Or, on the other hand, the remaking (and, supposedly improving and outsinging!) the original. In it all winds up crashing down. Here, there is a lot that is distinct and fresh...just by virtue of the fact that you, specifically, are singing it and in full heart. Agree? Fair assessment? It's the right balance. And that's all you need. To me, this is a technically, creatively, and sonically successful cover. Not an easy thing to do. And a great post-Chicago reintroduction of your solo work.

Brilliant! Wow, this is so exceptional! You've got such an amazing voice. Of course you do though. You were with Chicago. You've got such a Powerhouse voice Jeff! My friend Buzzy Martin shared this on his Facebook Page. Buzzy is an amazing man. A movie was just made about him, "Don't Shoot! I'm The Guitar Man!" He's helped troubled youth and taught them guitar. He's gone into San Quentin prison, and that's actually how his book and movie got that title. You don't want to move to fast in the Prison yard, and he did, and found out real quick, that he could actually get shot. Check Buzzy Martin out. Be such a selfless man. God bless Jeff.

I never liked the timbre of Jeff's voice. Yes, he can sing in the high register, but his sound is edgy, whiny, and a bit annoying. Kenny Loggins' voice is much better and Peter Cetera's voice is a thousand times better. Jeff is OK as a cover band singer for local yokel club bands, but that's about it.
