I had the great pleasure of meeting Jessica and her husband at their home in the late 1970s. Half the time we talked about music, her recordings and everything in general. She was lovely gracious lady.

My Great-Aunt Jessica Dragonette was serious about eating and living healthy. She was known as the "petite soprano."

I knew Dr. Hauser as a much older man. He was a good friend of my Mother's and I still make sure I have "Spike" from my local health food store with most of my foods. Recently, drove by his old home in the Hills in California. Never knew he had a show!!!

Fascinating info and I greatly enjoyed watching this. I read years ago that Mr Hauser was a longtime friend of Greta Garbo and was a nutritional consultant to many celebrities. Very well known author & speaker in his day. And I think his line of health foods is till produced. Very interesting to see him & hear his charming accent.

@@jubalcalif9100 Yes! Through him, I met (or encountered) her, Greta Garbo, although I was a child and she was very senior. I had no idea who she was until much later. She didn't like new people and was famously reclusive. I think he would encourage her to get out more so they would go out for long walks, etc.

@@jubalcalif9100 Oh yes. Generous too. He helped my mother, a struggling single mother with 2 kids, make ends meet and even paid for the 3 of us to fly out to visit him in CA to spend Christmas there at his home.

Gaylord's program was seen during the 1951-'52 season on Wednesday and Friday afternoons at 1pm(et). Minute Maid sponsored him on Wednesdays; the Friday segments were "sustaining".
