I agree, that design leaves a lot to be desired. I have ran across the same issue with a friends mower with that Kohler engine.

Ran across this issue a number of times but never crossed my mind to try dielectric grease. Great video and handy tip, keep up the great work 👍🏻 💯. " Damn Kohler " 😂😂

@@JeffsLittleEngineService Yes....the dielectric grease was an interesting fix. Was there a tech tip for that fix. If so, I missed it. If not....there should be!!!!

I agree, that’s a dumb design and I’ve run across the same problem a bunch of times. Chances are that’s why the brake pad is worn so thin, sometimes people leave them running with the brake on until they finally stop. All they needed to do was put a little contact arm on there to ground out the coil when the brake releases!

I had one last summer couldn't get it to run correctly. Did carb. Then new carburetor stillran crappy adjust valves same. It was the spark plug wire end. (Noise supressor) put a regular wire end on it. Fixed

Good job

What I do is remove sparkplug clamp bail use a drill to turn engine 80 grit paper to clean flywheel
@matthewwearsch242Ай бұрын
That's why you don't leave your mower outside any time I go over a mower I clean up the outside of the flywheel and the coil
@JeffsLittleEngineServiceАй бұрын
good tip!

You need to get the mowers up on a stand, to save your back & knees

Good advice. All my work benches have other projects on them right now

What's worse, a Chinese Kohler or a calico cat?? I don't have a Kohler, but I do have a calico cat.😾😾😾

Kohlers suck... Would much rather have a Briggs Quantum or a Honda engine.
@JeffsLittleEngineServiceАй бұрын
I agree! Some of the older Kohlers weren't too bad.
