was surprised when you didn't have a video for this on day one since it seemed like it would be right up your alley. as usual though, you show things that no one else covered! this one definitely seems a bit more involved to use than others, so thanks for showing that!

I appreciate your honesty when reviewing expansions Jef! Of course, you wonderfully show that everything is usable if you get creative and work with the source material's direction rather than against it.

Anyone that's influenced by A Tribe Called Quest or J Dilla will have a field day with that expansion!!!!! As I was going through favoriting the groups, loops and one shots, I was blown away like no other kit, being able to chop up some REAL Jazz without it being lifted from a record!

Hello Jeff, I enjoy watching you demonstrate things on your videos. They open up the possibilities in a positive way. I use this name on this account but my name is Robin Eubanks and I'm a trombonist and composer. Do you play trombone? I see one on a stand in your studio set up. Many of these expansions are demoed by people who seem to have limited musical training, which is fine of course. However, it's nice to see a musician explain things in a way that is easier for me to relate to. Thanks!

Hi Jef! Do you have a video (I’m sure you do) that is like a starter guide to an Expansion? Is it just a set of samples, loops of those samples and presets for the synths that you’ve already got?
@JTFuller2 жыл бұрын
That's cold dude.. I may have to check this one out.. But I need CrateCuts first.. lol.. That's was a great walkthrough.. Being you know what you're doing, you drop mad nuggets in your videos bro.. Outstanding Jeff.. I wish I knew 7% of what you know.. Those chords you play.. There's been plenty of times I wanted to just sample you playing around.. lol. Some groovy stuff..

I had to laugh when watching you go through the multi-step editing process for a simple piano audio loop for purposes of this video, when in real life for your own music, you’d just play the part in a fraction of the time 🤣

@@jefgibbons On that piano loop: why do you first export the audio and drop it on a new sound and then change from audio module to sampler? Why don't you just do that on the original loop, so on slot 1?

Love your videos! I’ve really slowed down on buying expansions. This may be not a popular opinion but I started using Splice when I switched to Ableton last year. Splice has made these packs seem a little redundant
@jefgibbons2 жыл бұрын
Good to see you here again Bad Milk! I should check out Splice…
@badmilk17352 жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons I’m always around :) disclaimer I’m not working for splice. I think you’ll love the Splice Bridge. You use it on a midi track in your DAW and it syncs up Splice bpm can also choose the key. For example you might have a beat almost finished and feel like it needs a saxophone in B minor, you can find it without even stopping the music. Drums are insane, loops or one shots in every genre. For the price it’s a no brainer.

@@jefgibbons I just got Arcade by output today. That is also a must! I can’t believe it. I saw it years ago and ignored it. Everyone uses it. They basically have play series instruments. Plus samples. They have vocals; drums absolutely everything. Regular updates. Annual subscription $100 i highly doubt I’ll buy another NI expansion or play series (I have nearly everything atm) Arturia V collection, Splice and Arcade is really all you need.
