Thanks for this! Honestly, I never used Kontakt all that much, and I have upgraded to Komplete 14 awhile back. While I have no reason to upgrade to Komlpete 15 right now, I just may upgrade to Kontakt 8 to follow along how to make use of it. As ever, another good video!

I had just bought Komplete 14 collectors but instead of getting mad I bought 15 collector's.. and then east west composer cloud. No regrets.

One advice, there’s so many plugins and libraries in Komplete, you don’t NEED to upgrade right away when an update is released, surely not when you haven’t explored and exploited all sounds and effects you already own. Instead, just be patient, wait for 6 months or so and they will have a -50% on update… then it will be time to update. And even then, if you really don’t have any urgency, you can also skip a version from time to time. The update price will be the same if you update from the previous version or from a version before that. For instance, I upgrade from 8 to 9 Ultimate, then from 9U to 10U I think, and then to 12 Ultimate Collector, to 14 Ultimate Collector… and now I wait for the next -50% on 14UC to 15UC update. You can save quite a lot of money that way…

Please don't mislead viewers by calling Kontakt a sampler, is isn't, Kontakt cannot record (sample) sounds, it can only play back pre-recorded samples. It is important to make this distinction. There are plenty of plugins that can actually sample, Steinberg's Halion for example.

Thanks Stephen, I'm just using the nomenclature that NI themselves use. Just google Kontakt 8 and look at the top of your browser. It doesn't sample directly, but you sure can make your own sample patches with it.
