Had to rebuild my p243 twice. Long story. Great vid. Can’t wait for the rest. Keep the motivation up.

For the sake of anyone looking at this for info the stock output splines on a 4l60e and into a np208 (or np241C for that matter) would have been 27 and not 29.

36 splined or 32 splined

One other question for you, what part # was that transfer case adapter that you used in this conversion? Thanks!

I mention it in the video but I used 84203235. Worked perfectly.

@JEG's Garage I appreciate the info. For the sake of curiosity did you look at the idea of just buying the 4wd version of the 6l90E output shaft instead of having the 2nd version machined or is the problem that 4wd version is still 36 splines and then you would not have anything to machine down? I know next to nothing about the 6L series of transmissions so just fielding questions for folks in some of the swap groups that I have been seeing lately!

@@CraftwerksMC I did. I wasn't able to find the output drum for the 6L90, new or used. 6L80 is different so that was a no go. I think the 4wd version is 29 spline too. Not sure. To be honest, the trans had to come apart anyway, and the machine work was very cheap and very quick. Tcase had to come apart too as one of the thrust washer was busted. So it all worked out and 32 spline is nice.

ive seen you and another do this swap and both use 2wd transmissions. can you not use a 4x4 trans? Thanks!

Sure can! I just happened to get a 2wd trans. Luck of the draw. Couldn't pass up the engine/miles/price.

@@JEGsGarage would bolting an 8l90e to my np208 be the same as the 6l80?
@JEGsGarage2 жыл бұрын
@@ethanslape8889 good question. I can't verify but I bet it would be similar. GM kept the adapter patterns the same for a long time. Shaft compatibility would be your main concern.
