I don't know how this showed up in my recommendations. I am really not into batteries but I watched it all the way through. It was funny, intereting and informative. I must admit, I was wearing headphones and went to take a leak, I pissed on the floor from laughing at the T-shirt comments, nerd etc. "Haven't sold a T-shirt in six months." Excellent video.

I have a EcoFlo Delta 1,000. I solved the power boost hack by buying a 200 amp gel sell deep cycle marine battery and connecting it to a 1500 watt 110V A.C. true sine-wave inverter. I plugged the AC charging cable into the inverter. The Delta 1,000 charge port flows power through. The current from the inverter fully charges the EcoFlo battery to 100%, if it is slightly discharged, while powering whatever device you are connected to. I run a 530W air conditioner. The inverter alarms at 10V and shuts down when the battery reaches 9V, at which time the EcoFlo battery takes over. I easily more than double the run time of the EcoFlo.

Just buy 2 200ah deep circle batteries and a 1500 watt inverter and plug a power brick too it to keep the delta topped off and adds extra capacity. You would just need a separate charge controller. What sucks is the new delta smart batteries are not compatible with the ecoflow delta.

I have 2 delta 1300 models. I bought 2 of them off of Amazon just a bit over 2 years ago . They are both out of warranty now by like a month and Ecoflow customer service is total crap. One said that bad battery pack it couldn't be fixed ..The other Customer rep said it could but that With shipping it and replacing the pack would cost $800 ish and they suggested I buy a new unit. Adding that solar input to add a second battery in your video you mentioned bypassing the BMS. I think my issue is I didn't charge and recharge my unit and now the BMS now won't allow the unit to charge . Could I bypass the BMS and try to charge the battery ? The unit does power on when plugged into the wall but doesn't charge but immediately shuts off when removed . Any help would be appreciated

I know this video might as well be considered from forever ago now.. but I just wanted to say that we bought a single *extra* Sunpower X22-360 (we already have 10x of the on the roof of the Tour Bus so we were familiar with them and like their performance because of their use of the Gen 4 MAXEON cells) for $135 off eBay. And this single panel charges a Delta 1300 at an average of 330 Watts when even slightly correctly positioned. So, I mean, $135 / single panel / 330 watts - I seriously see ZERO reason to buy expensive 100watt panels needing all the space, and cabling, and combiners etc etc *if* you have the space to stow a single 96 cell Sunpower panel. Anyways, as with all things YMMV, but this is what's working for our two (2) Delta 1300's. Oh, also yes - having two Delta's imho is clutch. The pass through unit to unit feature has made all the difference for us. It's a similar setup to what you're doing here with a battery extender in a sense.

Is there anyway to use an aux battery to somehow power through either the Solar charging plug, 12v plug or some other method that does not require you to open the unit?
@rootcanal71884 жыл бұрын
Mike Zimmerman, I asked Ecoflow support that question and got this answer: Please note the output information of the delta 1300 below: AC Charge Input Voltage: 100-120Vac (50Hz/60Hz) ONLY! (International Version 220-240Vac ONLY!); AC Charge Input Power: X-STREAM Charge 1200W max; Solar Charge Input: 400W 10-65V DC 10A max; Car Charger: 12V/24V DC 10A max. "we can see Delta can be charged with DC( Solar panel / Car charge) via the XT60 port. So there is no problem that if you want to charge it with a 12V battery and ensure the output is within the range above. The connector type is XT60 below. "
@rootcanal71884 жыл бұрын
Mike Zimmerman, keep in mind that you can be charging the Delta by solar during the day, while it is powering loads through the inverter, then at night you will hopefully have a full battery to get you through the night.
@Retired_MZ4 жыл бұрын
@@rootcanal7188 I was asking as a major portion of this video was about how to tie in the battery he made to the 1300. Was it possibly to make more power immediately available for consumption rather than using the battery to charge up the 1300? I'd rather not invalidate my warranty by opening the 1300.
@rootcanal71884 жыл бұрын
@@Retired_MZ True, you don't want to do anything to void the warranty on the Delta. In theory it should be possible to use an aux 12 volt battery, which is connected to an inverter, to then charge up the Delta through the AC power input. Probably best to have 8 solar panels, so you can charge up the Delta with four panels, and the 12 volt aux battery with another four panels.

Lifepo4 is the future, and the people brave enough to DIY batteries for home energy storage don't want or need the volatile lithium Ion/NMC chemistry. They would rather have 4x the cycle life and the safety that Lifepo4 has when compared to NMC cells. The rack mount style 48v 100ah batteries are becoming increasingly popular because they are turn key products, and they are somehow even less expensive than buying raw Lifepo4 cells to build your own battery. I would personally still choose raw cells if I could afford to invest $25k into a solar system and solar energy storage system, but I absolutely understand why people want to buy the rack mount turn key system. If I was installing solar and energy storage for someone else, I would probably recommend the rack mount batteries, as long as the rack mount batteries use good strong cells and a solid bms. I know there are a few companies out there that make solid batteries, like SOK
