Last day at Wains Transport | Confession and Revelation after seven and a half years

After seven and a half years working at Wains Transport I have made the decision to leave. I had a great time working for Stuart Wain but it’s now time for me to move on
I confess about why I have struggled to put out a video every week like I was last year and my plans to hopefully change that back in the coming year. Maybe even a lesson for some that you never really know what is going on in someone’s life and its always best to be kind.

My wife had a total of 9 miscarriages and we were told we would never have children (tests eventually revealed a chromosome translocation).....my wife never gave up and we now have 4 wonderful children, all growed up, all graduated university and are our pride and joy.

Thankyou for the insight into life on the road. I worked a Tilbury Grain Terminal many years ago for 13 years and loaded hundreds of lorries. One becomes more like friends to the drivers as they came in regularly. I know the feeling when you leave a job after a long time. Best wishes in your new job hope it all works out

Aww, I'm sad for you, too, Jemma. Enjoy your break from work. I broke my wrist badly at the beginning of the year and after the cast was off, I've had to do stretches three times a day, after warming my arm in my sink for ten minutes. I'd prop you (my phone) up at the sink and watch your episodes. I think I've watched them all now. You broke the tedium of what has been a low point and it has always brightened me up to see your happy, bouncy, self. Good luck in your new career, we are both on to things anew now x

Hey Jemma, firstly, I am really sorry for your loss, I’m happy to hear that you’re taking a break to sort out YOU, you’re an inspiration and role model for so many drivers out there and I hope you come back fierce and fighting strong, ready to take on your new role wherever that may be, I too have resigned from Mick George and have accepted a role as a Class 1 driver with a nice small family run haulage firm running out of Mildenhall, let’s hope we both love the new homes and get on with it! The nice thing about my new role is that they have properly fitted out the lorries for tramping with all the luxuries and necessities one would expect from a company that actually care about their night out driver’s well being. Good luck in your New job, I dont miss driving HGVs, I had 50 years of it, The first 6 years on a Tipper, grain, Then Nobody would Employ you under 25, I was 21, So you had to do all the jobs nobody wanted because of Low pay. I did18 years Shunting, Loading and tipping, The old rope and sheet jobs, Not ratchet's then, Or Satnavs, Containers, Flats, Flatbeds, Tank Containers, Tipping and loading Fridges at the local Cold Stores, The next 26 years On Tanker's, Petroleum and Chemical's, I have Done work for BP, Shell, ESSO, Morrisons ASDA Tesco and Sainsburys. Its not the job it use to be, Anyway best Of Luck, Look after yourself..
