51:26 it's funny you say that, cause after Hugh finished production on Logan, and announced he's no longer going to be Wolverine, he saw the Deadpool movie, and, in Hugh Jackman's own words, he said "oh i made a mistake quitting..."
@SebastianWeinberg23 күн бұрын
As they tell the story, Hugh wrestled with sticking to his words for years, until one day the decision just crystallised, while he was in the middle of driving. He stopped at the side of the road and called up Ryan right there and then, telling him, "I want to be part of the next _Deadpool_ movie. I don't know how far along you are, whether you're shopping around for scripts or are starting principal photography tomorrow, but is there a way I can be part of it?" Ryan was silent for a few seconds, and Hugh was afraid that he was trying to come up with a gentle way of letting him down - but what Ryan actually said was, "Are you serious about this? 'Cause we have a meeting with Kevin Feige about possibilities for a third movie _this afternoon,_ and if you're really in, we can pitch that to him right away!" As it happens, that meeting would likely have been the _last_ meeting on the topic, at least for a while. They had been meeting and brainstorming ideas for a third part for a while, but nothing ever felt right, and Shawn and Ryan were gearing up to pivot to a different project instead, and letting _Deadpool_ rest for a couple years longer. Ironically, a Deadpool & Wolverine crossover had been one of the _first_ ideas, but Feige was against it at the time. _Logan_ was still fairly recent, and Feige didn't want to cheapen it and undermine its impact by bringing Wolverine back to life so soon, and Hugh was still on the record as being _done_ with the character - but _now,_ a couple years down the road, with the TVA and the multiverse established in MCU canon, and with Hugh on board, they could actually do it! And _damn_ if they didn't pull it off magnificently!

No Ryan Reynolds did not dance for the opening credits. That was Nick Pauley who was hired expressly for that scene. In the car fight scene, in a blink and you miss it moment, the first song that came on the radio was "The Greatest Show" from Hugh Jackman's musical "The Greatest Showman." When Deadpool says sorry to Elektra about Daredevil's death. It's a small fourth wall break. in the 2003 movie Daredevil was played by Ben Affleck, who was dating (and later married to) Jennifer Garner, Elektra's actor. They got divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage. "There's only been one Blade." was another fourth wall break throwing shade at the long gestating MCU Blade reboot that has been delayed indefinitely.

The TVA (Time Variance Authority) and "Sacred Timeline" are from the two seasons of the show "Loki." Chis Evans played Johnny Storm ("The Human Torch") in the original Fox Fantastic Four movie. That's the joke of him being Johnny instead of Cap in this movie. Gambit is an X-Men character. Channing Tatum tried for years to get a Gambit movie made since he is Cajun just like Gambit, but unfortunately it never happened. The "love letter" was specifically to the Marvel films from Fox. Fox made the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool (first two), and Daredevil (Ben Afleck)/Elektra movies. It'd be awesome for you to run through the MCU movies.

The story in this one is actually brilliantly written, but not in the way that's obvious to a casual watch. Everything about the timelines dying were references to various franchises from the Fox years just sort of fading away. This is why Electra and Blade got the ending they deserved. Gambit's movie was supposed to be done, but didn't every get made. That's why he thought he was born in the Void. Everything they say about Logan being the Anchor Being is a reference to the fact that he basically held the X-Men franchise together. You can almost rate the quality of the X-Men movies by the amount of Wolverine in them. The MCU is really struggling to find the magic since Endgame, so that part was also based in truth. This story is a figurative synopsis of the last 20 years of Marvel movies. The ending montage was a tribute to the Fox films that paved the way for the MCU then basically vanished.

Hey Jen, Gambit was briefly played by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. When Ryan Reynolds finally got Deadpool off the ground, Fox was interested in developing other solo X-Men tie-in movies, and Gambit had been a very popular X-Man since the 90s. Because of the poor reaction to "Origins" and Taylor Kitsch's lack of box office success as a lead in "Battleship" and "John Carter," Fox decided to recast with Channing Tatum. The "Gambit" movie then spent almost a decade in developement hell until it was finally scrapped entirely just prior to Fox being sold to Disney. Since Disney was eager to start fresh and merge a rebooted X-Men franchise with the MCU(where they belong), they had no interest in carrying forward any elements of the FoX-Men films ...until now. Poor Channing Tatum was heartbroken as he had been dying to play his favorite X-man for years. He had always loved the famously Cajun hero as he hailed from New Orleans where Channing Tatum himself resides. Ryan Reynolds, knowing how much it meant to finally play Deadpool, wanted to offer at least a piece of that joy to Channing Tatum and called him after writing Gambit into Deadpool 3.

Some of the Deadpool variants are comic originals, others were invented for specific people to play in this movie, but the Deadpool Corps is actually run by Lady Deadpool in the comics. The voiced ones are Ladypool (voiced by Blake Lively, who Deadpool’s creator Rob Leifield based Ladypool on in the first place since he and his wife watched Gossip Girl together, so a neat full circle moment there), Cowboypool (voiced by Matthew McConaughey), Kidpool and Babypool (Inez and Olin Reynolds, Ryan and Blake’s kids), and Headpool (Nathan Fillion of Firefly fame). Some other references are the futuristic Deadpool 2099; the one everyone calls “Scottish” is actually Welshpool (with the flag of Wales on his chest), portrayed by Wrexham AFC player Paul Mullins; Tom Holland’s brother Harold plays one (Haroldpool), as does Ryan’s stunt double Alex Kyshkovych (Canadapool).

The different Wolverines: 1. He is actually short in the comics. Accurate height. 2. The one hand version is from the Age of Apocalypse comic. 3. Logan's Patch persona, originally an alias he used when he was in Madripoor. 4. Logan being crucified happend in the Uncanny X-Men comics. 5. Logan in his 2nd well known costume, the yellow & brown, and when we see Hulk in his adamantium claws that's from a Hulk comicbook cover (not the one were Wolverine made his debut) 6. That's the Old Man Logan version. 7. And of course, The Cavillrine. Before Chris Evans became Captain America, he was Johnny Storm/ The Human Torch in the early 2000's movies of The Fantastic Four. It was one of his first bigger roles, before that he was mostly known from Not Another Teen Movie, which parodies a lot of teen movies. Channing Tatum was originally gonna play Gambit in his own solo movie back in 2010's and it was a role he really wanted to play. But the project went into development hell and when Disney bought Fox that movie got cancelled. But then he finally got the chance to play Gambit in this movie and he really did a great job - accurate suit and look, plus he did the Cajun accent. I wanna see him become the MCU's Gambit in the MCU's X-Men, and it might happen, heard some rumors that they're planning to introduce Gambit and Beast in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars. Actually there is or was, there was a comic series called Deadpool Corps., which was about Deadpool leading a mercenary team with other Deadpool variants such as Ladypool, Kidpool, Dogpool & Headpool (who is from the Marvel Zombies universe). Here you saw a Cowboypool (voiced by Matthew McConaughey), Babypool, Samuraipool & a Scottishpool, the one with laserswords & you wondered who it was is Deadpool 2099 from the Marvel 2099 universe (I think).

The guy in the red and white striped shirt is The Russian from the 2004 movie The Punisher. The woman you might have spotted running around with claw-fingers was Lady Deathstrike from X2. The pinkish rope that grabbed Laura was from Psylocke who was in X-Men: Apocalypse. **The difference, though, is that none of them are played by the original actors except Sabretooth. Pyro was played by the same actor who played him in X2 and The Last Stand but he was played by someone else in the first one so although he's not quite the original actor, he's the actor most people associate with the character in the movies.

Hey Jen, you've hit 90K! Congrats, that's awesome!

The funny thing about Deadpool and Wolverine fighting is that neither of them can win. They're both basically un-killable. So their fights are really more like therapy sessions than actual battles. 😅

Don't listen to what others say about those movies. Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) are both good campy fun. They definitely are more on the lighter side but fun just the same.

Agreed. Just never, NEVER watch Fant4stic (Fantastic Four (2015)) unless you are absolutely 100% filled with self-loathing.

You have to watch the show Loki. It’s great and you’ll learn who the TVA is, how timelines work & where they went when they were pruned.

The ending montage was celebrating the end of the "20th Century Fox" era of Marvel, that's why it felt like a goodbye.

Oh dear, sweet Jen… great reaction! This movie is a love letter to the Fox Marvel universe, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Blade, etc. If you’re going to watch the MCU, start at the beginning, watch in release order, and the shows are pretty good. Of course, some are better than others, but all are important to the overall story. LFG!

Gambit is another mutant in X-Men, he’s a really cool character and was going to get his own movie, Channing Tatum was going to play him but it never worked out. Which is why they had him play Gambit in this movie, and when he says “The world never learned about us” he’s actually referring to his movie getting cancelled, sucks. He has a tiny cameo in The Wolverine, taking Logan to the island, but that’s it. I loved him in the cartoon though. Also, the guy playing Pyro is the same that played the kid Pyro in the X-Men original movies that came out in the early 2000s, a lot of great cameos with their original actors in this

I love that the music playing while Deadpool is digging Wolverine up is the song "Only You" which in this context could be reinterpreted as "Only Hugh".

Super funny movie and super fun reaction, as per usual :). At the end it IS a goodbye but it's to the Fox-universe ("X-Men" etc.) - 20th Century Fox is no more so _that_ universe is over now. ("Dogpool" is actually called Peggy BTW and came to Ryan Reynolds' notice after she was crowned Britain's Ugliest Dog a few years back - title be damned though, she's cute as a button :)

20th Century Fox still exists, but it’s called 20th Century Studios now. Since Disney owns it all though, there will be no more X-Men or other Marvel movies under that studio.

Not sure if someone mentioned this already, but fun easter egg: When Deadpool / Wolverine fight for the first time in the void, theres a little nod to Toby McGuire's Spiderman in the choreography. When Deadpool is dodging Wolverines claws, he dodges in the exact same way and same rhythm as Peter Parker when hes fighting Flash in the school halls.

I thought the mask looked a little off at first, but that moment when they're trying to destroy the time ripper, when Logan turns his head to look at Deadpool... that looks spot on comic accurate. I would love to see the brown, tan and black version of that. I know it's earlier in the film and they were saving the mask reveal, but damn.
@sable-king206628 күн бұрын
Gambit’s powers are way cooler than Deadpool described them. He can charge objects with kinetic energy and make them explode. In some comic runs Gambit is an omega level mutant because he has the potential to charge the entire planet with energy.

So the Deadpool Corps that they showed: Lady Deadpool Kidpool Dogpool Babypool Headpool (severed head from Zombiepool) The Deadpool Kid (Cowboypool) Roninpool (Samuri Deadpool) Deadpool 2099 (Deadpool with the lightsabres) Welshpool Deadpool Corps that weren't shown but were in the comics: Pandapool Fatpool (he's at least 350 pounds) Galactipool (Universe where Galactus is a Deadpool) Wolverinepool (self explanatory) Catpool Squirrelpool Dinopool (A T-Rex Deadpool) I know I missed e few, just know that the multiverse literally has every single version of a Deadpool that you can think of and many, many, many that you hadn't thought of.

There is a Deadpool double that does the dance in the beginning. Although I'm sure Ryan Reynolds snuck some scenes of himself dancing in there.
