Ciao Elizabeth, What a fantastic collection and video. I was just recently introduced to your channel by Miguel at SoCal Watch Reviews. It was very cool to hear about your collection, especially with so many watches I also adore. Great presentation, you are so much better than I was in my first year on KZbin. Is that a mini Hugo I see in your studio? 🦖😂 I will be sure to tell him. Keep up the great work, I look forward to following more of your content. Onwards and upwards. Best regards, TGV

Outstanding collection! I recently passed up on an once-off deal by my AD on the Omega Railmaster Denim and I regret it daily. I have unintentionally been collecting watches since the 70s, initially Seikos as they were all I could afford as a youngster. I now have a variety of brands. Ironically, my older Seikos are now worth more than many of the newer releases by Seiko. I wish I could thin out the herd, but have become attached to my watches as they present a visual timeline of my life. Keep up the excellent videos!

Even though I feel like sometimes they are so focussed on differentiating themselves from Rolex that they do weird things with their proportions just so it seems like they're not much like Rolex". This. So much this. That's why I bought the ETA Black Bay not the big fat chunky in-house unit. It's like they snuck that one through before Rolex went "hey... you're getting too close!".

I rarely leave a comment on videos but I fully agree with you on Seiko. My first watch was a Seiko 5 and I bought 2 more Seikos after it. My Seiko 5 movement rotor became loose after a year of wearing and I had to get it serviced. I had the same issue on another Seiko and both movements did not keep good time where within a month it was running 5 minutes off. Not sure where the belief that Seiko movements are bulletproof comes from given that my experiences with them are far from it. To top it off for the last watch (SRPE53) there was dust in the dial and the dial was misaligned. Bought my first Swiss watch afterwards (A Tissot) and never looked back - super reliable and accurate movements. It’s a pity as I still love Seiko’s designs but I ended up selling all of my Seikos

I just recently discovered your channel after seeing a few others I started to follow referring to it. I’m very glad I did. Seeing a female’s perspective in a very male dominated genre is very enlightening . This video I found very interesting as I am at the very start of my watch collection journey. I have had an interest in watches for years and years. At the age of 42 I finally scratched the itch and bought my first mechanical watch, a 42MM Hamilton Khaki Field with a black dial with a bracelet. I’m a bigger guy so 41MM is about as small as I feel I can get away with before the proportions of my size starts making watches look tiny Two months after buying the Hamilton which I love, for. Watch #2 I decided on the blue dial Longine Spirit Zulu Timer (New). Seeing you wax poetic for you Oris Aquis made me opine for that watch as the Aquis Calibre 400 was my other option. I think I made the right decision as I really have grown to admire a Longine in my journey so far and honestly I think it’s a bit more understated than the Oris which is what I’m looking for right now. Anyway, I look forward to catching up on your past videos and catching the new. Cheers. 🍻

The Khaki King was my first Swiss watch too. I don't wear it much anymore, as I have a grip of amazing watches now, but it seems like every 6 months or so I'll break it out and be like "oh! why hello there, old friend!" and it won't leave my wrist for a week LOL. Then back into hibernation for another 6 months. I really love your collection, thanks for sharing!

I share your appreciation for accuracy, and give major preference to the watches that run within a second or two a day. My Tudors are incredible, but strangely a Swiss Watch Company “Bunker” that I picked up two months ago lost 5 seconds the first day, then gained two back, then two more back, then hit zero and stayed there for 7 weeks straight! I was so geeked. It’s a Sellita SW200 movement that SWC regulated to within an inch of its life. I love that watch. Cheers!
@WatchWitt2 жыл бұрын
Any budget watch movement I have that’s under -10 or over +20 spd will tend to get regulated by me. Fortunately I haven’t run across too many. I’ve even got some NH35’s that come in at +1.5 spd! The Bunker from SWC is a killer piece. If you’re into quartz, don’t pass on their ARK too! SUPER accurate.

I want to say though that your comment about Seiko accuracy is a little unfair. I used to sell Oris and was involved with running Friends of Oris which sadly doesn't exist anymore but our KZbin videos are still out there somewhere.
