Jennifer truly deserved her Golden Globe and Oscar for playing Effie! An iconic role was recreated that for 35 years has inspired generations of African American divas. Also, very thoughtful of Jennifer to dedicate her award to the real Supreme that inspired her character Florence Ballard who's been deceased for 40 years now. It's surreal that George Clooney presented Jennifer's two golden statues!

The winner of the previous year of the opposite gender always presents the award. For example When Meryl Streep won in 2012 colin firth presented it to her because he won best actor the year before. In this case George Clooney won for supporting actor for Syrianna and he is presenting it to her.

Wait, How did Florence never get a chance ? She went from the slum ghetto to seeing places and living beyond what any of us could ever imagine. So how the Fk was she not given a fair chance ? She went through some crap like we all do, but am I suppose to feel sorry about all the great things she was able to benefit from while it was happening ? Girl bye ! 👋

@Ashley Fordham-Harper oh please ! That's a total cop-out. That's show business and only the strong survive ! I'm asking what "fair chance" was she not given ? Florence met Kings and Queens and lived a life most of us will NEVER know, so how did she not get a fair chance ? If we're talking about a music career then that would be incorrect as well because Florence put out a solo album of her own that bombed, so your reply is beyond stupid to think she was never given a fair chance. Florence also benefitted from being a part of the Supremes , GTFOH
