Good for Adrienne. That’s growth. Adrienne was really lacking in the empathy department, where if it was something she couldn’t relate to, she would act like it flat out didn’t make sense. It wasn’t, “I feel this, but I can see why you feel that”. It was “I feel this, and I can’t fathom why you would ever feel that”. I’m looking at you “Sexless Marriage” Convo.

@@allisonjones1585 Acknowledging that another women has flaws and applauding her for addressing them and improving herself is NOT bringing women down. It is in fact the opposite. We all have them. And we didn’t MAKE Adrienne’s words into anything. They are, what she intended them to be. And this is something that she admits she’s working on. So why are you so offended that (1.) you think it’s a bad thing that we as women can hold each other accountable and (2.) that we can accept that we’re not perfect, and only hope that we’re humble and open minded enough to change the things we can. What part of that compelled you to accuse me of bringing women down and why are you speaking for all women? The irony is that the only person bringing women down here, is you.

I missed this show being this way. Everything still feels authentic. Yes, I miss Tamera, but garcelle fits right in, her energy is so positive. Her being there doesn’t seem forced and you can tell off camera they are building a relationship with her. I honestly didn’t watch last season, the set up was horrible. Also y’all need to understand the ladies aren’t in their 20s and early 30s anymore. When this show started Adrienne was 29 now she’s 37. Loni was 42 and now she’s 50, and Jeannie was 34 and now she’s 42. They are getting older so although we still get the fun lighthearted topics, I’m sure they will want to talk about more serious issues as the show Progresses.

I still have to "put on" Adrienne everyday when I leave my house. 10 years I have no real friends cause I find it hard to fit in. I thought I was the only one but even Adrienne which is extremely successful and Latina feels that way makes me feel like I'm not alone.. We have to be careful how we raise our children because childhood traumas are no JOKE believe me. Adrienne is so right about childhood traumas. I was a very cheerful and an extrovert child but when I was 6 years old my classmates started bullying me. I felt like I didn't belong, like I was alone. So then I changed to a different high school and I got bullied again by a boy (thank God my teachers handled it like champions and he never bothered me again) but the wounds are still here and I'm about to be 25. I finished college, I have a small but real group of friends, I know I can do a lot of things by myself, but the minute I'm surrounded by people I get that awful feeling again. I'm trying to work on my self esteem but it's not easy. Guys, be kind to one another always, and if you see someone in school or at the work place having trouble to fit in don't hesitate on giving them a helping hand. You never know, maybe there's a hidden gem of a friend in them :)

I moved to Australia 3 years ago from Kenya and sometimes I feel like I don't fit in. Although my English is good, it doesn't come out in the Australian accent. What I am learning to do is to not let the fear of fitting in hinder me from embracing opportunities that God has for me. I mean, ofcourse I have an accent, I have lived in my home country all my life. I am slowly embracing who I am and moving in confidence of that. I am tired of fear of what if holding me back from the potential of a successful future. Fear is definitely better than regret

It’s interesting that Loni mentioned Arizona. I’ve been here 11 years and I definitely feel like an outsider. The people are nice but it seems like there’s no real connection.

I appreciate these ladies candor. I just wish the Kardashians, specifically Kim and Khloe were this honest about their insecurities and what about their childhood or life that made them exclusively date black men and adopt black features. Why are they so attracted to it? Honest conversations like these are needful for healing. 🙏🏾

Do black men have conversations as to why they're attracted to white features?
@accrualworld318
@accrualworld318 2 жыл бұрын
@@RychAhlberg Sounds like a rhetorical question but I’ll give my thoughts anyway: If they aren’t doing so, they should. Everyone should. We all have childhood and adult experiences that shape us whether negative or positive. Examine all areas of SELF.

Omg yes Adrienne! I just lost a “friendship” that was based on them liking who I was when I “put on” out of fear of not belonging. Then when I let my guard down, boom. I was proved right that the real me wasn’t good enough for that person.

Aww, Adrian! You made me cry! You are sooo right! Those deep rooted cultural insecurities are so real! I’ve had this conversation with friends. A lot of us get stuck down because unconsciously we don’t feel worthy or capable compared to our white counterparts. So those of us who’ve made it have to keep sharing with the young ones! They need to know they can do it too!! Thank you for sharing such a vulnerable feeling.
