Using smart iron on, do you have to keep in on the roll. I cut pieces down to 7-8” and my maker got jammed :(

They will last like store bought clothes. Wash inside out, air dry or dry on low. Do not iron on top of the vinyl.

When I make my shirts the design lifts off after a little bit or the heat press makes the design look melted. What am I doing wrong and can I make it permanently stay

The melted look can be from pressing too long and/or too high of a heat setting. You can press longer in the spot where it may be lifting up. You can turn the shirt over and press for 5 to 10 seconds to help seal it.

That is a personal choice. I usually do not wash my t-shirts. If you plan on selling them I would suggest not to wash them so they have that new look.

What do you do if your cricut cuts all the way through the vinyl?

Does it cut all the way through the carrier sheet? Check what material you are choosing for the correct vinyl. Different brands can also make a difference in quality. Before you waste more vinyl do a test cut. Choose a shape in Design Space and size it to do a small test cut.
