Just for shiggles all trams should have that jaws music playing over the outside speaker, especially when snaking through the gardens.

Loved this format. Reminded me of your guest spot on Geoff’s channel. Liked all the ‘B roll’ of the tram, and the great work on editing.

There should be a lot more like this in the future! Next weeks video will be in my "usual" format though - this new style takes a lot longer to plan and edit!

This is my first proper video that isn't just a linear sped up video - I hope you all like it! If you're new here and think I sound weird - watch this video and you'll be bought up to speed - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p37LoZmkad5ro9k Also, if you're considering commenting anything regarding helmets, I'm not interested in that debate!

I very much enjoyed that. I am not overly familiar with Manchester or its transport network, so the video was interesting from that perspective. However, I also enjoyed the race element, the jeapordies you both faced, and the fact that both you and Karl come across as thoroughly nice people.
@JasonCliftJones3 жыл бұрын
Bury line might be close too. East Dids sort of loops back on itself. Airport the bike would likely win easily as tram is so slow through Wythenshawe. Ditto Ashton & Trafford Centre due to on street running I suspect. Rochdale I'd expect the bike to win (though the train would beat both) as again, not the most direct route for the tram, but it's mostly old railway line so might be closer than I expect...
@JarvisChrist3 жыл бұрын
Wow, you have strong legs! I worked as a courier with ebikes in Amsterdam and whenever the 'e' didn't work it was slow going. They're much heavier than my bikes.
@JenOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to ween myself off the "e" part so quite often have it in mode 0. When it's completely dead (like it was here) it's a lot harder though

The Manchester Metrolink is still expanding including to Port Salford and future expansions including to Stockport and the Wythenshaw Loop. And maybe Manchester Metrolink could extend to Bolton.

I love this! Does Karl have a channel of his own as well, or is he just a perpetual guest appearance on other's travel channels? Great job with the B-roll footage to make this a produced feature too. Really enjoyed watching, and I hope there's going to be more!

Nice thing about the Netherlands is that almost all one way streets are just one way for cars. With a bike you can go both directions. This makes the bike, together with many special cycle paths, the fastest way to travel within cities 😊
@JiminyClarkson Жыл бұрын
I've seen one way streets in the UK that have a contraflow bike lane, or just say below the no entry sign "except cycles". Bikes being exempt from one way rules make perfect sense because bikes aren't fat, cumbersome in tight spaces and space inefficient, and can filter through without interfering with traffic.

When I go into office, it’s 5 min walk from GMex and I live 10 min walk from Nav Rd. I cycle for as much of year as possible along canal to Castlefield. Cycling always beats the tram/walk. The tram is even slower on the on street sections. Pre 1991 Alty to Man Picc was 25 mins; no such chance of chat now.
@TheMCRJourneys2 жыл бұрын
@JenOnTheMove, Karl, there is 10 wheels on a single tram and around 25 on a double
@boxrick13 жыл бұрын
Interesting you took the canal path rather than up the A56, given much of it has the cones and cycle track these days and obviously don’t need to battle with pedestrians for space. You can get some real speed down there.
@JenOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
Very little of the A56 has popup lanes, and there are many more red lights that are poorly timed for cycling. I know this because I use that route regularly.
@premraghvani2 жыл бұрын
Thinking about it, Tram vs Bike for Rochdale to Manchester Vic would be interesting as for the bike, the best route may be down the canal till Mills Hill or Failsworth and the tram obviously has to go through Oldham... (Train ofc would be an unfair advantage, but then again Northern)
