Just rewarched this review on the Alter Ego palette, and i have to say, this is by far my FAVOURITE palette i have ever purchase. I bought this last spring and wore it all throughout our muggy, humid summer😅(I have combo/oily skin and no issues with staying power). Now, into our dry winter, I find it an uplifiting colour story to play with the themes of pastel winter skies and snowy sparkles. If i had to choose one palette to keep out of my entire collection, this would be it for its versatility (i can go one and done with some of the neutral shimmers), bold(deep, smokey colours to blend out and add over black, brown or grey liner) or sparkly, playful and creative! I just love it! Cant wait to see if theyll do a dupe on hudas pretty grunge 💙🩵💜🖤🩶

I'm convinced--Alter Ego gets my $20! Thank you, Jen! You really showed the similarity. The deciding factor for me was the wear test. This color theme could definitely be worn to the office. The slightly more subtle shimmers in Coastal are perfect for daytime wear and, as you showed, can be easily amped up to take it to nighttime. Allie Glines did a comparison of the two today as well, but there was no wear test. Critical if you don't have time to touch up throughout the day! So she left me on the fence. Thanks for helping me decide which to go with, and for saving me a bunch!!!

Not a dupe,but the ColourPop Pretty Please palette has a very similar vibe to the HB palette. My only complaint with the HB palette is that all of the mattes seem pull so pink on me-even those that look brownish or taupe.

I’ve been wanting that Rose Quartz for the longest time but didn’t want to spend the $70, just ordered this one and the Luster pallet thank you Jen.❤❤. Update, they both were so pretty but that tiny glitter pinpoint fallout was bad on me, why do companies keep using those, Sydney Grace shadows never have that in their shimmers or pressed glitters, I’m bummed cause the color story is what I love. They will go to a good home, at least they weren’t expensive. Not getting the Huda Rose Quartz either cause those pretty shades have the same thing after I saw someone doing eye-looks with it.❤❤

I’m always down for a good dupe BUT Huda has one of my fave formulas so it’s one I’m always willing to save up and splurge on. I seriously wish she’ll venture out and do different color stories (aside from mauves, pinks, browns). Her last couple palettes - naughty and the brown/gold one whatever that was weren’t for me because really warm tones just aren’t the best on me. But I just love her formula! It’s so easy to work with. Whenever I want a quick but beautiful look that I don’t need to spend work blending, I reach for Huda! They always blend with no effort and the shimmers/metallics are gorgeous! But it seems alter ego did a great job!

Hi Jen, I just went over the Coastal Palette today when I received an email from Alter Ego. The front of the palette reminds me of where i live on the Pacific. I have already decided to get the Coastal Palette and do not have the Huda palette because of the price. Your left eye is darker. I also got the Harmony Palette when I saw it on your channel. Thank you so much again for this video Jennifer. I LOVE m’y Rose quartz palette . I also noticed that the shades look deeper on my skin , some of them look even much nicer on my skin than on the pan! You have a very fair skin, so the Alter ego ones are going to look like on the palette. I have darker skin, with probably some olive undertones, the eye shadows need to be very high quality otherwise they just don’t show on me.

I kept looking at the beginning and even paused the video. I watch on as 55" TV and I could not see a difference on this side of the multiverse. Does that mean they went back to their original formula? Cause when the last palette came out, you could feel the difference and I was not a fan. I only kept 1 cause it was a little bigger. I always think the dupe is the high end one, then you tell us which is which and I'm blown away. I don't know if it's the camera or what, but from this side, it looks like the Alter Ego side faded less than the Huda side.

To slow down the shades drying out, put the palette in a ziplock bag and squeeze the air out after each use. This also works for mascara that dries to fast

I got the rose quartz for Christmas this past year or else I'd be picking this up crazy . I rarely use this beautiful palette though bc the glitter is kinda annoying. And the shimmers wear away so maybe it isn't worth it 😮I searched high and low for a dupe for the palette before I chose it. Now I regret it bc I never wear it. I recently tried alter ego midsummer and shadow kiss and i love them and i have oily eyelids. I find it lasts best with paint pot vs concealer. I like the alter ego formula so far. I might get this one just to have a dupe although I'm not a KZbinr i think both palettes are beautiful. ❤

A lot of people said that the Elf New Classics palette was a dupe but I always felt like the formula wasn't quite the same. Bad Habit had a dupe at one point, but it's discontinued. I'm not sure off the top of my head but I'll have to do some research! :)
