There should be criminal charges against Rielly, that was clearly an assault with a weapon.

When people are soft these days they used to have it all the time in the '80s and the guy didn't even get injured on the play

This is one of the reasons why hockey is a great sport- fighting, but not in these situations. Fighting can and should be started at moments of disrespect

Pulling the goalie is the stupidest move in history. Pull the goalie and give them another goal 99% of the time. The only way I would ever pulll the goalie is if you have a power play resulting in six on four.

Don't think Reilly deserved a five game suspension....no injury occurred. Interesting the Leafs went on winning streak during the Reilly suspension.

"Bettman's ruling on the appeal is final. Players only have the right to a subsequent appeal to an independent arbitrator on suspensions of six or more games. The Maple Leafs have gone a perfect 4-0-0 with Rielly out of the lineup" lol

If you’re gonna have all that safety gear on why not have a massive fight!

The problem is there arent any consequeneces if you trip, slash, fight and hurt someone of an ENG. You get meaningless 2min and the games is already over.

Hitting a player after a empty net goal should lead to a two-game suspension and a fine of $250 Canadian dollars.
@Bardownski86Ай бұрын
I’m sure that will really leave a dent in their pockets!

@ ok, $1,000? I don’t know what would be appropriate. They all go to their players union and appeal the fines anyway

Not sure I understand the first clip. The announcer said "the game's over," and yet it wasn't. So the team ahead was supposed to just let the other team shoot until they tied? Come on. Yes, if it was 5 to 1 or something, then shot on empty net I see as unwarranted, but up by 1? Finish it and score. Don't like that they did that? Don't be behind.
@darcys8424 ай бұрын
Its not that they arent supposed to shoot, the idea is if your on a breakaway on an empty net, just put the puck in the net. You don't need to do an overdramatic windup slap shot. Its arrogant and grieg looked like a prick. Of course Rielly was out of line for that shit too. While Greig was being disrespectful, rielly was doing something dangerous. cross checking like that can easily cause concussions and he should have dropped the gloves and fought it out instead of going for a cheap blow
@bryanbarton41024 ай бұрын
You don’t act like a hot dog like that on an empty net breakaway, you’re going to get that response every time. Just slide it in the net and skate back to the bench.
