This video was an homage to Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet confirmed by the video director on her Instagram. The fight scenes happens in the movie too, it's the warring families of the 2 lovers. The stage on which JK sings is very similar to the coastal stage on the movie. The meaning of the song's lyrics also means an eternal love that will be with you no matter what. Yes their are obvious comparisions to MJ, JK's voice, his dance moves are reflective of Michael. I’m a baby boomer and yes, I’m six feet under! I have loved Jungkook for some time now, but this MV was actually an emotional experience! It has taken my breath away. The production was fabulous. JK looked amazing, his voice was unbelievable, and his dancing was breathtaking. The music and lyrics were incredible. This is definitely one of the best MV performances I have ever seen.Jungkook has defended the content of his other singles by saying he is a “grown man”. Honestly, even though I liked the other songs, I found the lyrics to be adolescent “in your face” unsophisticated sexuality. These lyrics, however, are sensual, passionate and meaningful. This is how a MAN expresses himself! Oh Jungkook has grown up!

Read this in a comment, not sure if its true but very interesting: Confirmed by the director of the music video that the inspiration and setting of the stage is a reference to Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film Romeo + Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio (Romeo), Claire Danes (Juliet), John Leguizamo (Tybalt) and also Paul Rudd (Count Paris). Just like the 96' film, the stage is what's left of a destroyed theater and all that remains of the stage is a wall with a large hole that reveals the sunset through it. The limos represent a bit of a nostalgic luxury vehicle in today's modern world and like the story of Romeo and Juliet belonging to families that don't approve of their relationship because they're rivals and decide to end it all at this meeting where a huge fight between the families breaks out between Jungkook (Romeo) and his love interest (Juliet). Yet he still decides to stand next to her to the very end.

This song and man is who got me into BTS. Vs my bias but here is the reason why JK is my ultimate bias! I’ve been having cancer treatment and surgery since September and they always say BTS find you.
