While I'm glad Lucien was defeated, sacrificing Davina's soul was just wrong. Those Ancestors are pure evil torturing that girl's immortal soul. If Klaus says they shouldn't do it, they should have listened. Poor Marcel, after everything he's done for them his adoptive daughter was sacrificed. He has every right to blame at least Elijah and Freya and I don't hold that against him.

When she became regent she did what they said until she retaliated when that witch tried attacking her. Other than bringing Kol back she was mainly against the vampires and Originals except Marcel and Josh. But despite what she had done she didn't deserve to have her soul literally torn apart. No one deserves that. Why didn't the Ancestors punish the witch who attacked the regent you know?

Those few vampires wanted to keep her safe while the Ancestors could care less. The Ancestors are to radical and cruel. Even Vincent who was loyal to them realized how cruel they were and they needed to be stopped. I mean they wanted to sacrifice a baby. That's as evil as it gets. Not all vampires are evil just like how not all humans are evil. The Ancestors took things to far for their own hunger for power and hatred, and honestly I don't blame Davina for some of her actions. I don't agree with all of her actions and yes she could be arrogant and did some bad things but the Ancestors are much worse.

At some point throughout this season, Klaus became the most sympathetic character in this show, and I just can't help but feel for him. He changed so much and not just for Cami, but I genuinely appreciate that they didn't just make him turn back to anger and hatred after his loss but made Cami's character really "immortal" in the lasting impact she had on his character.

Yes, I love that! Klaus telling Freya and Elijah not to put Davina in danger, not only surprised me, but satisfied me. Klaus now REALLY knows what its like to lose a true friend, a confidant, and lover all in one. He didnt wish the same fate for Kol, and he didnt want neither Kol nor Marcel to suffer Davina's loss, because he knew bad that would hurt. You could also say he knew Cami wouldn't want that.

Truth be told I was never the biggest fan of freya but this felt like something she’d do from what we’ve seen from her as a character. This season is so heartbreaking from Finn's to Camille's to davina's death and this episode it is so sad and for that reason this is also the best season. And marcel's reaction and him fighting for Davina because she is like a daughter to him and the betrayal that kol must have felt from his family is just sad

One thing I really LOVE that this season focuses on is how we all know that the Mikaelsons will do anything to protect each other but at what cost? Is because it's for family make their actions justifiable? As an audience we love them and of course want them safe however protecting each other always comes at the cost of everyone around them and this season, particularly this back half have really starts to show the repercussions of that fact. Marcel's "I did everything you asked" when speaking to Elijah is heartbreaking because this season their dynamic has been really interesting to watch. I hate seeing Davina go out the way she does but I do understand both sides because it wasn't just that Lucien could kill any of them at any time, he was about to kill Rebekah and then Haley so it was a now or death situation. But everything about Kol and Davina just tears me up inside!!! They have such a tragic story and i love them so much.

you know whats funny, Marcel was saying those stuff to Kol about your family destroys everything they touch" but the funny and annoying thing is, Kol literally told them not to do stuff and they didnt listen. for example he said destroy the sermon they didnt listen, he said to kill Lucien when they first ever saw him, they didnt listen. they dont listen to kol and thats why almost all these bad things happen. love them though🤪😂

I was proud of Klaus and the progress we can see in his characters development. I will say that this episode was difficult bc I love the Mikaelsons but I was disappointed in Elijah and Freya. I understand that they needed to get rid of Lucien but Klaus told them to find another way even knowing how much of a risk Lucien was to their family. I get why Elijah and Freya did it but I wish they hadn’t bc it affected people close to them. Davina was important to Cami, Vincent, Marcel, and Kol.The scene between Marcel, Klaus, and Elijah was intense and you can truly feel every word Marcel is saying.

The whole season 3 is amazing, but for the heartbreaking and slightly masochistic reasons I was waiting for the reactions to 3x19 and this episode the most.. so thank you for these. Davina's death combined to "Silent Running" by Hidden Citizens always gives me chills and makes me tear up, no matter how many times I watch it.. Danielle did an amazing job in that scene. Lucien's death is very satisfying to see.

This ep is always so hard to watch… but realistically, they weren’t going to save Davina over Rebekah, Klaus and Hayley. None of them wanted to do it, but they ran out of time for a better option- they were barely in time to save Hayley and Klaus as it was. Davina was already dead because of her own crimes against her people. Not that I fully blame her either… Vincent should never have manipulated a traumatised teenager into becoming Regent (and taken zero responsibility for doing so🙄). For Kol and Klaus, I think it's because even if they didn't do anything this time and were trying to help, they still a part of the problem. Mikaelson's are a family and always act as one. So they are hated and feared as one entity. Davina is the last straw and what truly broke Marcel but she is the symbol of the choices all Mikaelson's made for a thousand years. Including Klaus and Kol. Klaus wanted to help but still defended Elijah over Marcel. It's the same result : family comes first even when it truly shouldn't. I do like how in TO season 3, Mikaelson's aren't the good ones and the season shows you the dark meaning of Always and Forever, Family above all after showing the good side in TVD and two first seasons of TO

Davina was the only person who he cared about apart from his family and it was his family that did it to her. he lost the love of his life AND his family all at once and he doesn't have anyone else. he can't even bond with marcel, because he hates him too (even tho he's not one to blame). and he didn't feel like he was a part of the family for a thousand years and when he finally started to feel like he is (with his death in Kaleb's body and the rest), they did this to him. and he's probably wrecked with guilt, because even tho it was the ancestor's fault, he was still the one to do it. that's tough, man. Nik used to bitch about their mother putting a curse on him, but he didn't even know what being a wolf meant and Kol was a practicing, talented witch. I feel like Kol was one of the most misunderstood and lonely characters in both the vampire diaries and the originals, and Davina was the solution to both these problems

I love Vincent as a character, he is the most decent one from them and after what happened with Davina I'm completely on Marcel side, I understand their whatever it takes to save our family, but this time it was just simply too much, especially that Marcel is part of that family and they broke him... What the ancestors did to Davina was beyond evil but Elijah and Freya sacrificing her like that was just as evil. Even Klaus said no! EVEN Klaus who hates Davina said no because he loves Kol and Marcel. The originals have lived a long time and poor Devina has barely lived. Whatever happens after this is their own fault. They can't blame anyone but themselves. After this episode i never felt the same for Elijah and Freya. Elijah's character has been going down hill for a while now and this really was the last straw. Even though Klaus tried to justify what they did to Marcel, he saw in the end that this was not a win. I really don't agree with what you said, that you feel like they really tried because they really didn't try. If this was Rebekah, then they would have tried harder. My heart breaks for Marcel! He has done everything for them and yet when he needed them the most, they let him down. Same with Kol! Poor Kol lost the person he loves because of his own family. I know people really love season 3 but i never liked it. The villains were boring. Lucian was not intimidating at all. Aurora was at least funny. I love that Kol came back but other than that i really didn't like this season. Season 1 and 2 is so much better.

Klaus kneeling for Hayley was such a powerful moment. Davina’s death was very hard to watch this episode. She didn’t deserve that. The acting was incredible though. Freya and Elijah killing her after Klaus specifically telling them not to, is something that I took awhile to forgive them for. Marcel, Kol and Vincent have every right to be furious right now. The Mikaelsons have no one else to blame but themselves for what happens after this. Like Marcel said, anyone who isn’t their family is nothing in their eyes. That is one of the reasons I like this season so much. It explores the fact that the Mikaelsons are responsible for creating a lot of their villains and causing (even if indirectly) a lot of innocent death as a result of their actions. Yes, they are the main characters and we root for them most of the time, but there is a lot of things they do that are hard to defend. Vincent said it best this episode when he told Freya that she destroyed someone who’d barely begun to live in favor of people that have had more than their fair share of lifetimes. It makes you see the fact that the Always and Forever promise gets taken too far a lot of the time.

But what I find interesting is the wording that you used in the beginning of your comment: "Freya and Elijah killing her after Klaus specifically telling them not to, is something that I took awhile to forgive them for."; that is a curious way to put it, does that imply that if Klaus were to give them the 'go ahead' in the plan to sacrifice Davina you would've been ok with it? or it would've taken less time for you to forgive them? It is wrong whether Klaus sanctioned or not and also Klaus himself has done horrible things in the name of "protecting" his family or for other even weaker motives, so his sentiments about it don't change the morality of the act

Klaus giving them permission to kill Davina wouldn’t at all change how terrible what they did was, or make me forgive them quicker. In fact, I would be just as horrified at Klaus in that situation. I guess I just meant that even Klaus, who is known for making rash and terrible decisions, and for being a bad person, even was against killing Davina. He realized that Marcel and Kol would be turned against the family if they did that, and he also didn’t want Kol to go through losing Davina like he lost Cami. Freya and Elijah should’ve listened to him this time, and took the time to find another way to kill Lucien.

Kills me to see Davina go out like that, and twice for that matter, yet it appears most people don't get the gravity of the situation. The alternative was that Klaus would die by Lucien's hands then and there, then Hayley moments after, then Elijah soon after, then he'd find Rebekah and put her to ultimate sleep then Freya. And I can even see him killing Marcel since he was part of the Original family or on a whim when Marcel refuses to follow his orders after he's wiped out the Original family. My god, what would he have done to Hope? You fancy he would let Hope grow up as peacefully orphaned as he made her? No I didn't think so too. Elijah's sired would all also be wiped out (knowing the Strix, that probably wouldn't be the worst idea ever, lol). Still a bad decision that was made by Elijah and Freya. Klaus said find another way and there wasn't one. I blame them too but it makes sense and it is kind of excusable (not really but kind of) when you find that the alternative was eradication as opposed to bringing back someone who was already dead. I know, it sucks but the choice they made was on the balance, the right call regardless of how selfish and cold it was.

It's like the traintrack scenario and changing the track will kill 1 person which leaving it as it will kill 5+ people, only this time, you have 2 of the 5 plus people making the last ditch decision to save themselves and their loved ones by using the only power they could have through the 1 on the other side of the track. It's cruel but it's understandable. It makes sense why they would, but hating Freya and Elijah for it makes it seem like you've missed the impossibility of the situation. Nothing would've been a good choice. They chose their family which is the side of less casualties. You have a right to be angry though, that makes complete sense too.

And that scene with Freya doing the spell with the music was epic. RIP Davina though! Whatever Freya and Elijah did in this episode was terrbile, but it didn't killed Davina, because she was already dead. They could help her and possibly try to bring her back to life, but I will repeat it again - Davina was already dead. So her blood in this case is on Kols and ancestors hands, because it was their doings with Kol what killed Davina. And for the record it's not excuse for Freya and Elijah from me, because I'm completely on Marcel side and that's one of the things I will never forgive them.

I see both sides but the difference is Freya and Elijah did anything to save the family without even trying to find ways to make sure no one gets hurt as soon as theirs an option to save the fam they take it without even trying to find solutions and then using the selfish one as last resort. Kills me to see Davina go out like that, and twice for that matter, yet it appears most people don't get the gravity of the situation. The alternative was that Klaus would die by Lucien's hands then and there, then Hayley moments after, then Elijah soon after, then he'd find Rebekah and put her to ultimate sleep then Freya. And I can even see him killing Marcel since he was part of the Original family or on a whim when Marcel refuses to follow his orders after he's wiped out the Original family. My god, what would he have done to Hope? You fancy he would let Hope grow up as peacefully orphaned as he made her? No I didn't think so too. Elijah's sired would all also be wiped out (knowing the Strix, that probably wouldn't be the worst idea ever, lol). Still a bad decision that was made by Elijah and Freya. Klaus said find another way and there wasn't one. I blame them too but it makes sense and it is kind of excusable (not really but kind of) when you find that the alternative was eradication as opposed to bringing back someone who was already dead. I know, it sucks but the choice they made was on the balance, the right call regardless of how selfish and cold it was. Davina deserved to live though so that makes it heavy.

Everytime I see people defending Mikaelsons actions in this situation I'm just saying how if in this Davina scenario was involved one member of their family they would find another way, they wouldnt let that person die. After this I never really liked Freya or Elajia again as much. I just couldn't, I still have a big amount of resentment towards them. Especially Freya. Davina was my favourite character, but that's not the biggest reason. It's how Mikaelson's cruelty and hypocriticity always slips by, they almost never pay the price for acting that way, and fans almost always defend them because they are "main characters" so they can get away with all the fucked up things they do. Lucien was a creation of Mikaelsons actions in the past, it's their damn fault. The chaos in the New Orleans is their fault. I love their characters, but I don't think for a minute show paints them as heroes, they are not, there are no heroes in this show amongst main characters. People like Camille or Davina are not saints either, but they are victims of their surroundings. What they did here is almost no different from what Klaus did with Elena or Jenna in season 2 of TVD in the finale episodes.

at the end of the day, if you try to justify the Mikaelson’s actions in this episode, your cruel. Davina may not have been innocent, but that doesn’t mean it was right for them to sacrifice her. Though I adore them putting family first, it makes me sick that they would even consider sacrificing her in order to protect their own skin. And it was more than just a sacrifice; they knowingly sentenced Davina to a fate worse than death & had the nerve to justify it with family like that all of a sudden means it okay?? ESPECIALLY since she was important to Marcel, a man who’s done everything without question for them.
