This was back when buying an expensive Audi was like being part of a secret club only a select few were in the know on. You had something on the level of Mercedes or BMW but nobody knew what it was. Being under the radar was some of the appeal.

That is why I like the S8, because it has an understated look like a wolf and sheep's clothing. The design is minimalist modern and I think it still looks good to this day in 2021.

Just picked one up a couple days ago. Running, no warning lights, some interior things don’t work, 01, 164k for a thousand bucks. In silver with the solar sunroof option. Love it.

My older kid drives an Ebony Pearl Effect D2 A8L, 18" x8.5" wheels, progressive-rate springs (28 MM drop) & Bilstein struts, with tinted glass & the factory rear muffler replaced with a Magnaflow version with brushed stainless tips...younger one calls it the "Slav Mafia Murder Machine." The kids have known this car since birth, came from my aunt & uncle's estate. Such a neat car, police even pull it over to check it out

mein automobil s8 d2 baujahr 12/99: "royalblaumetallic" vollaustattung mit beigen innenraum,beiges vollleder, beiger alcantara "himmel", lederholzlenkrad, chiptuning, edelstahlauspuffanlage ab kat. ca. 400ps. und mittlerweile 300000 km gelaufen! ich denke mal, den gibt es jetzt kaum ein zweites mal auf dieser welt. ein "stück" wunderbarer ingenieurskunst!

My fathers car Audi S8 in 1998 , when i saw it asked how much is it , he told me it is 25KUSD, i believed him . After re searching it was 75KUSD 😂
