Jeremy Scahill on Growing Proxy War Between U.S. and Russia & Downing of U.S. Drone in Black Sea

A U.S. drone crashed in international waters Tuesday after being intercepted by Russian fighter jets over the Black Sea. According to U.S. officials, one of the Russian warplanes collided with the MQ-9 Reaper drone and damaged its propeller, but Russia denies the aircraft made contact. The incident occurred about 75 miles southwest of Crimea and marks another blow to relations between the two nuclear-armed powers. Jeremy Scahill, senior correspondent for The Intercept, describes the drone encounter as "an incendiary development" in the U.S. proxy war against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. "This is a vehicle of war, and it doesn't have to have missiles on it to be part of a system that makes the U.S. a combatant in this war," says Scahill.

Correct. Ukraine & NATO are responsible for this conflict. Ukraine since the break up have been using ethnic cleansing by the Azovs Battalions who want no ethnic Russians in Ukraine despite they have lived there for centuries. Of course it goes back to the terrible famine instigated by Stalin that killed millions of Ukrainians & in WW2 the Ukrainians fought alongside the SS in terrible ethnic cleansing. Zelensky is a menace who happily wants to drag us into WW3. The censored truth should be told but no one wants to go there. The Ukrainian mentally & physically disabled are parked in dire accommodation, chained to beds as Ukraine views them as Hitler did as not being worth a Ukrainian citizen. It got so bad that last year the UN told Ukraine to take better care of them & this was said during this conflict. That says all, but it hardly got a mention on the West's news coverage of Ukraine.

The US should maybe worry about our own country for a year for fuck sakes we are still in Syria occupying 1/3 of Syria for no justifiable reason whatsoever. We are taking about going into Mexico at this point because the Mexican President told the truth about the US imperialism… We look like the terrorist to the rest of the world we destroyed Germanys pipeline so they have to spend 5x on energy from us … Afghanistan we went there for 20 years and then sacrificed all our ally’s in the region by leaving abruptly. Libya is a failed state at this point what was once the most advanced highest standard of living country in Northern Africa we turned into a open slave market hell hole. I’m not sure what we do beneficial to the world much less the American people at this point. Our government and military only serves to enrich the international oligarchs .

And NATO has been providing comprehensive support all these years - weapons, training, intelligence. Contradictions ultimately from Jeremy, and I've been a supporter of his in the past. The war has been a US proxy war ever since the CIA backed coup in 2014, the dreadful murder of ethnic Russians by Ukrainian ultranationalists in Odessa. Zelensky has always been a US puppet, domestically tied by oligarch power and the disproportionate power and influence of Ukrainian ultra-nationalists, including Neo-Nazis, fascists and the Tornado Battalion that the WW2 Nazis would probably have found too barbaric to work with. It's absurd to say Putin has the power to stop the war when the US, via Boris Johnson, for example, has wrecked the peace discussions in March 2022, as well as having no genuine interest in the pre-Feb 2022 Minsk Accords. The point, despite the utter exhaustion of Ukraine, is to diminish Russia and ultimately get rid of Putin and Balkanise Russia in preparation for its exploitation, then China next. Insane clown US neocons will pursue this to Ukraine's end.

In 2014 do you not think Ukrainians were tired of Russian influence in their country and led their own resistance movement against a leader who had lost their respect? Or do you think Ukrainians are incapable of self determination and therefore must be dependent on US covert action? Do you realize that Zelensky, a Jew, won the presidency with >70% of the vote? Do you realize the far right has far less political influence in Ukraine than it does in Russia or the US or Germany or France? Do you realize that cease fire negotiations continued for months after Johnson’s visit and ended only after Russia annexed territory which changed their negotiating position. This is a colonial, imperialist, genocidal war. The only person who can stop it is the person who started it.

the cuban missile crisis was pure comedy. i'm glad relations are still great between the two nations. would be a great place to park some rs-28 sarmat hypersonic missiles, equipped with 10 to 16 nuclear warheads, which fly at mach 23. there are no counter-measures. just one of them could wipe out all of texas or france. 2,000 times the power of the bombs in hiroshima/nagasaki. eventually yank terrorism is going to come to an end, either through the collapse of the bogus petrodollar or a war. 11/9 is going to look like a firecracker when the enemy's china or russia.

It is important for them to provide American gunsmiths with new orders for a certain fee. Moreover, Ukraine will pay for lend-lease and stolen payments from the IMF for 100 years, is this not slavery? In addition, Ukraine supplied a large number of technological products to Russia, the EU and the United States do not need this, the West works according to other standards, and they do not need a competitor.
