@hahagotcha!!!! well I've watched most of his different series and I'd have to agree that they throw a whole lot of ridiculous concerns and fake fear to try and make the shows seem more exciting than they really are. This is just the first time he has seemed genuinely shaken, and admits openly to be fearful, as opposed to simply stating that it was a dangerous situation or that people have died attempting it.

@hahagotcha!!!! The whole premise of the show is him investigating people's stories of encounters that they had...and so by going there and trying to recreate those encounters even with a camera crew and safety divers...he is trying to show us how terrifying it would actually be if you were alone in those depths and saw these creatures what would be going through your head.

d d What...? I haven’t kept up with what he’s been doing these years but his original show was called “River Monsters”, where he would catch fish or other creatures known to have killed people. The fish we’re indeed dangerous but he would never demonize them. Ex.: He went into a jacuzzi full of piranhas and jumped into a river full of them as well to show that they really aren’t as bloodthirsty as society thinks. He’s an experienced fisherman who has a lot of respect for the creatures he catches. I don’t see where he portrays the fish as a monster in this video. What he’s nervous about is the diving not fish (He even touches the fish). Not everyone is a pro diver like you bud. He’s generated a lot of awareness of the amazing creatures we have on this planet. I don’t understand how you could misinterpret what he says and does in his videos that bad

Actually young oarfish will beach themselves if they're dying, so that's a thing. Also even with the help of people nearby it cannot help itself to get back down to deep sea level, so if you see a beached Oarfish technically you're looking at dead fish in the making, so screw everything go for it take it home with you, its gonna die anyway.

If they really used the chain as a reference for up, thats really interesting. Since they don’t have swim bladders they probably have a not so great sense of verticality, maybe they look for other oarfish above them and assume they are going up and have found a food source. That would explain them coming up and chilling by the chain and also give an evolutionary reason for how fucking long these bois are
