Thanks, Jeremy, great in-depth video, However, quiz-4 seems to be the wrong answer (b & c). correct should be (a & c), as, ESS - each BSS can use the same SSID (23:00); however, when we talk about multiple VLAN on the same BSS, we have different SSID and different BSSID ( one assigned as virtual BSSID assigned as incremented value) (25.40) - Correct?
@JeremysITLab3 жыл бұрын
25:40 demonstrates creating multiple BSSs, each mapped to a different VLAN on the wired network. It's not referring to ESSs.

I had to pick out a router and wireless mesh system for a large house with no ethernet runs. This stuff is confusing and extremely important. Ive realized that a lot of experienced IT professionals still aren't certain which frequencies are best or which device will give them the best performance. Its easy to say "just use wires" but thats not always practical or the best solution.

Quick question: if a single AP is providing multiple BSSes how are the BSSIDs formatted? Does the WAP have a single MAC it increments? Or does each BSS transmit from a distinct radio inside the WAP, which in turn has a distinct MAC?

So what's the best way to ensure the best signal for my apartment's WiFi coverage, considering that my neighbors' WiFi may be causing overlap interference? According to what I learned from the video, it's probably best to switch to 5GHz or even 6GHz? Though I don't see the 6GHz option on my 802.11ax router settings. Or maybe I need to go deeper and select to use a particular channel from 5GHz band? But I don't know what channels my neighbors are using, so am I supposed to measure what they're using first somehow? What's the benefit of using an AP as a repeater vs just making an Extended service set? Is it the fact that a repeater does not need a wired connection to the distribution system? Due to the curvature of the earth, what is the maximum distance that outdoor bridges can work, before you're just shooting the signal off into space?
