There are many streams that are on the shared channel, some on StarKiller, some are lost media, some have random clips floating around, but no vods... With Jerma retiring and ascending to another plane, have you guys considered consolidating this archive by bringing some of the old stuff back from the channels that were haphazardly uploading before the shared archive was a thing? Maybe even putting the random clips together to cobble a semblance of what the stream would have been?

@@In.New.York.I.Milly.Rock. You ask the hard hitting questions. As of right now, stuff that's on the other archives will stay there, with the only exception being Re-Streams. As for other archives that came before us, it's hard because we'd need to ask for permission but it's difficult to contact someone on KZbin. Keep an eye on those Re-Streams because those will be streams from the older channels. Thanks for your question!

Thanks Bacon. I unfortunately got into Jerma way late into the golden age, so your stream archives have been invaluable to connecting to the Jerma fanbase. His streams, and therefore your dedication to keeping this alive, has really brought great comfort through some rough patches in my life. Thank you bro ❤️

It doesn't feel like it, i really regret not knowing about him sooner. Restreams and Vods just can't compare to being a live viewer. The Jerma who streamed 3 years ago no longer exists, he's a time capsule for a period of time that doesn't exist anymore. It's why i can't bring myself to watch older Vods.

I'm really glad to hear you work so closely with jerma himself because i did have the worry about if it was wrong to watch jermas content on another channel but hearing the okay from him made me confident. You guys have been uploading these for years; thanks a lot. I have watching Jerma since his early tf2 videos. After he stopped uploading videos to his main channel, i moved to the "jerma/star" one and naturally to this one and its been nice watching or listening to these in the background while studying, playing games or just trying to make time. Bless your soul man. I feel Jerma got too popular so that may have made it unfun for him and the old viewers, or maybe the constant wheezing took a toll on his health. But nothing lasts forever and thats ok. Still, its been nice.

All in all, I think KZbin is reaching the end of it's life. I've slowly watched all my favorite creators either leave or get banned off this website since early 2010. This channel slowing down is kind of the final straw. There's so much content on this platform but the majority is made for monetary gain rather than a passion for entertaining and it's just getting worn down and repetitive now. It's been a good run and I've enjoyed the tens of thousands of hours of free content I've watched, but I think I'm just over it.

ChatReplay is a 3rd party tool made by a friend of mine so I can't speak for certain. Currently it should still be active for a while since it also services other popular streamer's archives like Vinesauce Fullsauce and Jabroni Mike. If anything changes about it, I'll do my best to update you guys. If you want to make sure it's active for a while, go donate to my friend so he can afford to run the tool a bit longer. chatreplay.stream/donate

jerma is streaming as a hobby now [called a "soft retirement"] instead of treating it like a job, hence why there haven't been many archived vods! basically he streams for fun/on his time instead of streaming because he Has to. archive channel is doing "re-streams" of his more popular older streams to help fill that void - around every 1-2 months !

i don't understand the idea of restreams besides monetization which is just so gross in itself, like come on, the first link you see in the description is your own twitch stream. "i deserve to link my twitch for archiving" congrats buddy you downloaded streams and uploaded them to youtube, that must be the most difficult task a youtuber can do. also why the hell does an archive channel need it's own ko-fi and discord channel? such a weirdo man lmfao if people are unironically joining these restreams then they're so parasocial that they need to find something better to do with their lives. just move on, i get that idea is terrifying for a lot of you but that's life.

the video explains the intent behind the restreams, and the reason behind his socials being posted; the latter was asked by many vocal archive audiences, a simple way to show appreciation regardless of the difficulty of his work. he further explains that he was reluctant to do this, but asked jerma and got the ok.
