Seen him at West ham as a kid .. with Joe cole who at that time was technically better skillful confident than lampard .. different than lampard and Carrick when Joe had the ball he wasn't going to do the easy safe pass he was going to try beat his man with skill and usually did wasn't as big as strong naturally athletic as other players.. he was a small still looked like a kid he was still a kid but with the ball at his feet you new he was gifted.. then going to see Defoe at rangers was 39 wouldn't touch the ball for 30min then boom get a chance and his finishing was still top class.. had lost his pace but give him the ball in the box he could still get a yard of space and bang one in.. great professional kept himself fit.. the opposite of Leon knight I remember him as a kid same kind of player as Defoe.. small but fast and a good goalscorer sure he ended up at Chelsea.. but wasn't like Defoe in that he had a bad attitude big ego didn't train hard to get better thought he was already world class he wasn't.. Defoe went to play on the EPL English international and played until he was about 40 .. Leon knight got released from Chelsea and became a journey man still scored some goals at clubs .. but could have been so much better if he was more mature and wanted to dedicate his life to football and getting to the top.. but when he was young boy coming up he was a natural goal scorer but with a bad attitude.. he could have played at the top had alot better Carrer than he did

Carrick was so massively underrated. At United he was just sublime his passing his vision. He was like Scholes his ability to sit deep dictate play spray passes all over the pitch aswell as scoring a screamer or two. A real Rolls Royce type midfielder

Lamps best quality was he was willing to hit the ball regardless of who was in front of him, or how the ball was set-up, he'd hit volleys, half volleys, one touch, first time to take advantage of the element of surprise. He also scored an absurd number of goals that took deflections, sometimes even tiny grazes that just carried the ball away, or went through crowds of defenders - and he put so much screw on the ball it would bend or curve unnaturally wrong footing keepers. You can't undervalue the willingness to have a go.
