Next is Opera 2 Singer 2017, This is his first song on Singer and the reaction of audience and fellow contestants in the back room is priceless. By the way, this is a competition of professionals with Dimash being the youngest ever. Dimash, in one day, won over China and just about everyone else who has listened. He has my heart.

YES! I am SO glad you're watching Dimash!!! Dimash is from Kazakhstan, the show was Chinese and he was the only non-Chinese competitor in the show. This was his first performance. I really recommend his second song, "Opera 2". If you think his falsetto was good in this, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Hi Jerod yeah its a competition "Singer" in china with massive viewing figures. All the performers are either professional or well known singers, Dimash was invited as the wildcard because of his success in his home country Kazakhstan, he was the youngest competitor and totally unknown to them. He didn't speak Chinese or French but he learned the song in French, apparently its from one of the most successful French musicals. During the competition he sang in 5 or 6 different languages although he only spoke Kazakh and Russian at the time. his pronunciation of English was a bit off but as you say you don't need to understand what is being said to appreciate the music. He was invited back to singer 2018 as a special guest in their Gala show Ep14 and sang Lionel Ritchies "Hello" and you can see his English as improved no end. Excellent reaction bud hope you follow his journey through singer 2017 and react for us ... btw he came 2nd !!!! 👍👍👍😊

This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Welcome to Dimash world. He's on his own league. I can tell you have knowledge in music in general which makes the reaction more interesting. I enjoyed it Dimash can do so much. Plays instruments sings with different languages, classically trained since he was 8 or so. Parents are professional singers His range is 6 octaves yes 6 obviously the highest isn't true singing but just hitting the notes. If you want some of the vocal acrobatics I'd suggest Opera 2 Diva dance bastau concert If you wanna hear the queens song: show must go on taken to another level. Then react to it

Thank you for a great reaction. Please do episode 2 from Singer 2017 - Opera 2 is the song name. This was the first time that the Chinese audience as well as the other contestants heard him sing. He is not from China and not knowing who he was, they selected for him to sing first and was not expecting to make it far. He was 22 at the time, the youngest contestant to ever be on the show and he actually won this first episode. You said his name correctly. Dimash is amazing and Thanks again.

I found out about him through a reaction video earlier this year and can't stop listening to him. You honestly have to check out more videos from him. Opera 2 is everyone's go to 2nd performance to watch. My favorites from him from the show are Autumn Strong (Late Autumn), Unforgettable Day, Adagio, Daididau, and Daybreak. Diana D The woman who got first place was already very popular in China. If you take into account that Dimash is from Kazakistan and couldn't speak Chinese and was completely unknown to the Chinese audience a 2nd place was quite remarkable. Just want the Best voice, good clarification since Jerod isn’t familiar with the competition. The members of the audience are the judges. It is the same 500 audience members for each episode and it appears it could be the same members from year to year as well (based on seeing many familiar faces this year). The competitors also vote but I don’t know if their votes are taken into account for the overall outcome. Singers are ranked by the judges for each episode. Then their overall percentage of votes throughout the entire competition decides their placement at the shows completion.
