Krause got us Pip, Phil, Tex Winters, Johnny Bach, Kukoc, Harp, Cartwright, Horace, Rodman, Kerr, BJ, Pax, King, EVERYBODY except Mike. Fans who boo him don't know anything. Krause was born in Chicago. Many teams have zero titles, he got us 6. None before him, none after him. He's a legend.
@andrewfurst57114 ай бұрын
So true. For some reason it became fashionable to "hate on" Krause, but the results speak for themselves. As great as Jordan was, he didn't win those titles all by himself. Krause brought in the great coaching, he brought in Pippen and Kukoc, he brought in a bunch of great "role players" who'd been overlooked by others but gelled with the team. And when the team needed to shore up the interior defense and rebounding, Krause brought in Rodman despite most teams feeling that Rodman's antics would be disruptive (they weren't, Rodman was a great fit). Personality-wise, Krause wasn't perfect. He rightfully wanted credit for putting together the team, but his dispute with Phil Jackson seemed petty, possibly on both sides, leading to Jackson leaving the team and Krause trying (unsuccessfully) to rebuild, while Jackson went on to many more titles with the Lakers. But so what? It didn't negate the great work Krause had done, and in no way excuses booing Krause's widow. Props to Ron Harper for consoling Thelma Krause as her deceased husband was booed. The losers that day were the booing fans, the winner in my view was Ron Harper, a class act.

Phil got another 5 in the lakers. Jerry krause and jerry reinsdorf have cause the bulls to have 25 years of championship drought.. think about that. Do Not Diminish what MJ and his team has done and achieved for the Chicago Bulls. Both jerry have made a huge mistake back then and they got to live with that. Those boo are what they deserve.

@andrewfurst5711 don't blame the fans please. You don't understand their feeling over these 25 years without any championship. Both jerry deserve the boos. If the fans doesn't like what they see, why can't they boo. Some people cheer and some don't. That's how it is going to be. I'm not here to judge. I respected krause but he made a huge mistake for breaking up the 98 bulls team. The greatest team ever. After all the things they achieved and this is what they get. This is what MJ got.. both jerry know they are wrong up until this day.

This makes me sad (once again) for Chicago. As was stated, Chicago sports fans don't act like this. I was born and grew up in Chicago (I'm 50) and I'm old enough to remember the Bulls years before Michael Jordan, where everyone was basically a coke-head on the Bulls. The world sees Jordan as the architect of that dynasty (and he was) but couldn't have done it without the shrewd strategy of Jerry Krause. Most of these Bulls fans just started watching the Bulls like yesterday, watch "The Last Dance," and think they know everything. I also feel like MJ should step in now (that Krause is deceased) and be a leader and give Krause his well-earned respect. I grew up watching the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks. There were WAY MORE losing years than winning years for all sports in that city, yet we rooted faithfully for our teams. We also showed visiting fans grace and hospitality (especially New Yorkers). I now live in Texas and when I go back, no one is originally from Chicago, all from somewhere else, and to be real most of them don't even speak english. All of you who booed Krause are not real fans and you have no class!!! Chicago is a freaking dumpster fire in every way!

Nobody worked harder or was more committed to success than Jordan during his tenure with Chicago. He brought unprecedented success to that organization. Krause deserves lots of credit for putting together the rosters, but it was Michael and Phil who are the most responsible for that teams success and they earned the right to have some input on when they should've been broken up.

We didn't and still don't agree with how the team was dismantled, but we should appreciate the fun we had looking back in watching those great Bulls teams play, they were dominant and Mr. Krause should be remembered fondly for that. Let the man rest in peace.

Yes he put those teams together and yes he should be respected for that. The fans are mad because he was also responsible for breaking apart the greatest dynasty in the history of the NBA before they were done. They didn’t even get a chance to loose their title , it was taken away from them and that is what Chicago fans remember.

I wouldn't even put it on the entire Bulls fan base for booing Krause like they did. It was a select group of people who had deeper underlying issues that probably prompted them to boo Krause. I am willing to guess that plenty of Bulls fans did not appreciate Jerry Krause for X reasons but still had enough integrity to acknowledge the commemorative moment and choose not to partake in the booing. The fans that DID boo are probably the fans that use Sports as a vehicle to project and displace their issues onto others. The upsetting part is that those fans tarnish the image of the loyal Bulls fans who understand it's just a game to enjoy. Sucks Mrs. Krause had to be a part of that. I am a Las Vegas Raiders fan and a Lakers and Dodgers fan. I see it happen within our fan base as well. That's just the way I see it.

The problem is Krause was never gracious about what he helped accomplish. Without Krause, Jax may never have an NBA coaching career, but Krause isn't why Jax wax a legendary coach. Without Krause, Phil doesn't have great pieces around MJ, but Krause isn't why Phil made these pieces work. Krause is who found the perfect Robin to MJ Batman in Pippen. But Krause didn't know how to make them work. Krause said "organizations win titles , not players and coaches". Krause started recruiting Tim Floyd as the new coach with the 98 season still going on. Krause was a person who carried many insecurities and projected this onto everyone around him. He was not a great person. Still didn't deserve this in front of his widow. Buy this is what triggered everyone in Chicago
