Jerry Reed is an undeniable genius... and perhaps the most under-appreciated writer, musician, singer, producer actor, personality of all time... Who can truly be compared to him? Someone please name another man who wrote HIT songs, recorded them performed them, played on scores of other HITS as a recording session musician, was an entertainer personality and major movie Hollywood actor?

Sammy Davis Jr. might fit the bill on that one. Plus the dancing. And a pretty amazing drummer, too.

Bob Carroll Yes! Sammy was awesome! But Sammy actually gotta a lot of recognition... Jerry had him on musicianship, songwriting and acting (IMHO)

I saw Jerry in Fresno at the Fair-he was the warmest most charismatic guitar player I ever met, I asked him to play Lightning Rod, he politely had to decline (I'm sure it wasn't in his current line up) but it was cool meeting him-he shined like Elvis did

I see frets on Chet's guitar. It's an electric acoustic. I'm pretty sure he's running his guitar into a processor that gives it that fretless-like sound.

Yes, it is. There's another clip where he plays the same tune on the same guitar and he says that it is fretless.
@brunoblivious6 жыл бұрын
Rick Rodrigues That is most certainly a fretless. I have the VHS of this concert and Chet specifically says it's a fretless. Also, you'd have to be deaf not to hear that it's a fretless. The markings you see may be because it was converted from a fretted guitar. I've seen DIY fretless basses that have the same look to them.
